Book Description

Top Ten Nominee for "Book of the Year!" by AUTHORS ON THE AIR Network!

"Amazing writing! [Your] craft is fabulous, the characters leap off the page, [and your] pacing is spot-on!" - Deborah Coonts, author of the "Lucky O'Toole Las Vegas Adventure" Series.

"I absolutely loved the witty, elegant thriller, SPIDER’S DANCE. Chock-full of fascinating characters, SPIDER’S DANCE thrusts the reader into the high stakes world of Big Oil—and an even bigger cover-up. In the aftermath of a devastating environmental disaster, our eminently reliable narrator, Nicholas White, carries us through this suspenseful tale with a combination of fearlessness and panache. Nicholas is a man you can trust, written by an author who has been there. Throw in a sunken World War II submarine and a high-stakes international scam of harrowing proportions, and you’ve got a corker!" —J. Carson Black, Best-selling Author of ICON and THE SHOP.

“What a fun read! The most striking thing about Will Graham’s prose is the humor behind it; if you like your mysteries and thrillers filled with wit, look no further. As a page-turner, SPIDER’S DANCE succeeds by weaving a web of an irresistible story. As entertainment, it is pure pleasure.” - Raymond Benson, author of THE BLACK STILETTO

The worst environmental disaster of the millennium leads computer security and forensics consultant Nicholas White into a labyrinth of intrigue and danger, a mystery with roots going back to World War Two.

When an oil rig explodes in the Gulf of Mexico, the company Nicholas works for is held responsible for the catastrophe. Assigned to offer technical assistance to rescue/recovery sites along the coastline, Nicholas notices irregularities that start to form a pattern…. and begins to suspect the explosion was not an accident.

With the help of an alluring but skeptical Interpol agent who has her own agenda, Nicholas unravels a web of deceit and death leading back in time to the Holocaust.... and is forced into a final confrontation with an inhuman killer.

Top Ten Nominee for "Book of the Year" from AUTHORS ON THE AIR Network!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling...AND funny! October 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Will Graham has written a remarkably entertaining story, due mainly to the protagonist's sense of humor. There are laugh-out-loud moments throughout, and these do not take away from the mystery or suspense. Unique characters, an original hero (we don't get that too often), and an up to the minute topical plot carries SPIDER'S DANCE to the bank.

5.0 out of 5 stars RIVETING! November 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Ripped from the headlines of world news, Mr. Graham uses history's biggest environmental threat as the springboard for his latest release. Woven as intricately as any spider's web, his plot threads disaster, murder, greed, and love betrayed into a fast paced mystery, punctuated with snappy dialog, and peopled by wonderfully unique characters. A wonderful companion for a soft fall weekend. I loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best thriller October 4, 2011
By Jody
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When a murder is followed by an explosion, you think it probably isn't a coincidence. When an agent from Interpol shows up immediately to investigate, you're sure. This is no local problem.

As the mystery unravels piece by piece, you'll get more and more involved. Subtle twists will have you guessing wrong every time and then as the truths are revealed, you say, "Oh sure. I should have seen that."

I don't want to reveal more about the plot because it's so much fun to read. It would be a crime to give it away. I'm convinced only a cyber-investigator who has lived and worked with the FBI could have written something so true to that lifestyle.

You'll love the laugh out loud inner thoughts of the usually silent and taciturn Nicolas White that are often contradictory to his speech.

This is the best thriller I've read all year.

I was gifted a copy of the author's book without expectation of a review. Here it is anyway.

I sat down to read Spider's Dance as the back cover sounded so intriguing. So many seemingly inconsequential events all adding up to the big finale seemed like a tall order. Was I ever wrong. In this smartly executed book, Author Graham weaves an interestingly tale about a man who oversees computer security for an energy conglomerate. After a murder in the corporate office, Nicholas White is overwhelmed when the corporate server room is bombed. The incidents do not appear to be related, but still, White's computer forensics background has him nervous and when an Interpol agent appears to question him, he realizes something big is happening.

What follows is a tightly wound tale of corporate manipulation, a massive ecological disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, and other events in which the intrepid hero and his agent girlfriend find themselves entangled. Graham weaves the pieces of this mystery together in masterful way without overusing redundant scenes or dialogue. What follows is a richly penned story of murder and intrigue that leave the reader satisfied and hoping to see more of White in future novels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Enjoyable December 25, 2012

A classic whodoneit. The good guy is the good guy. There is a fun love story. The bad guys lose in the end. If you enjoy these kinds of things, give it a read.

Nicholas, the hero of Spider's Dance is a computer security expert that gets caught up in well, a Spider's web of international intrigue. The 'techno parts' are accurate enough if you spend your days in raised floor server rooms but not so technobabble as to lose everyone else.

I look forward to more from Will Simon.

I just finished reading Spider's Dance, and I loved it. It has everything I like in a book. I found that I had to remind myself that this was fiction because it was so realistically written. I highly recommend it to anybody looking for a good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spider's Dance- Another Winner! October 5, 2011

I'm an avid fan!!
Will Graham has written another great story. I've read everything he has for sale and I'm never disappointed. This story takes a man, because of his skills, into a world of international intrigue and world power. Just when you think you have it figured out, along comes another wrench in the story. Add in a beautiful red haired Interpol agent who's as smart as she is pretty and you have a formidable pair. However, the bad guys are just as smart and death is but a mere game. Read this thriller loosely based on actual current events- you definitely won't be sorry!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Thriller! March 27, 2015
Format:Kindle Edition
The following are elements I look for in a suspense/thriller which takes a book from an okay read to a real good read:

1. The pleasure of immersing into a entertaining world the author created, where I don't feel like I have to suspend belief too much, because it is apparent the author has researched the subject matter, but not in a way that you're hit over the head with the research---it flows naturally.

2. Appreciating how the author has weaved real life events into a fictional setting, with dynamic characters and events.

3. Well-developed characters from the main protagonist to secondary characters who possess flaws, a great sense of humor and are able to dialogue with intelligence and wit.

4. Action, intrigue, suspense—and lots of it, with a mystery, grabbing me from the first page, and not letting go until the last page.

5. A unique plot with elements and twists and when the book ends, I was not only entertained, but have gained more insight into a world and events I was unfamiliar with.

6. If there’s a love story weaved into the plot, bonus.

Author Will Graham has done all of the above and more in SPIDER’S DANCE.

Humorous deep point of view from the main character, combined with a grave, suspenseful plot gives the book a good balance between moments you’ll laugh, and edge of your seat thrills.

SPIDER’S DANCE is well executed and well-paced book, allowing the reader to get emotionally invested in wanting to unravel the mystery along with the characters.

I look forward to reading more from Will Graham.
