I was looking for an all purpose wine glass. The best "all-purpose" glass I could find recommendations for was the Riedel Zinfandel/Chianti/Riesling glass, but at nearly $50 a stem, too pricey for a large set. I bought the Spiegelau glasses from Amazon and a pair of Riedel Zin glasses. I also did a comparison with my 'wedding' crystal, Marquis by Waterford Vintage glasses (shapes: White, Young White, and Bordeaux). We tasted several wines from each of the glasses. (Chardonnay, Riesling, Zinfandel, Cabernet)

The Spiegelau glasses were better or comparable to the Riedel and an improvement over the Waterford glasses for almost any wines. The Cab was slightly better in the large Waterford red wine glasses, but the difference would not be noticeable unless you had a really expensive bottle of wine. The chardonnay actually opened up a little more in the Waterford glass, but really, we could have been imagining things...

In addition, the Spiegelau glasses don't have a seam on the stem, a little detail that I liked. The Spiegelau glasses are incredibly fragile - I've already broken one, but at $10 a stem, it's replaceable.

OK, if you look VERY closely you won't confuse these glasses with ones that sell for 2x or 3x the price, but if you entertain and want very nice crystal glasses that feel good in your hand, but for which you won't cry a river if one gets chipped or broken and needs to be replaced, then these glasses are absolutely for you!

We have had these wine glasses for years and bought these are replacements
for some we had broken.
We have these white glasses plus the Burgundy and the Beaudeux glasses and
have always been very pleased with them.
As always, the service from amazon is reliable and fast. We have the free
shipping so that is always a good cost savings as we shop there often.

I purchased these white wine glasses to complement a set of the Spiegelau large red glasses (with which we are extremely happy). Both sets have a great feel and are an elegant addition to any place setting. They do need to be handled gently given the long stems and thin bowls, but that goes for any quality stemware. I highly recommend these glasses.

This is a decent glass, not a great one. The glass is thicker than I would like. It is a good party-ware stem (probably durable and stands up to the dishwasher) but I really would not consider this a stem for really evaluating delicate wines. All things said, its OK and definitely sometime I will get a lot of use from.

This ENTIRE BRAND of glasses feel VERY VERY cheap. I'm not a 'wine snob', just ur average wine drinker. They were thick, and plastic!!!! Not glass; very disappointing...I also bought another set in this brand for a birthday gift around the same time, and this was very embarrassing....would suggest not to buy
