Anyone interested in the late 1776 historical goings on between Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey will love this book. I found myself in a constant back and forth motion from the author's words to the foot notes in the back. The author does a good job of putting you in the moment.

An excellent overview of the role of spies during America's war for independence. As soon as I finished this book, I was hungry for more and ordered Brian Kilmeade's George Washington's Secret Six.

Interesting history of the Culper Spy Ring written in a pseudo Historical Fiction style. The writing tells the history like a history book, but then goes into dialogue between characters. Where is the dialogue coming from? Actual letters? Memoirs? There are absolutely no references, which annoys me. There were also a few typos in the text. What happened to the editor? Good starting point, but for more in depth history with primary sources, seek elsewhere.

In my reading about the Spy Network that George Washington set up during the Revolution, I bought this from amazon.com: Spies of the American Revolution: The History of George Washington's Secret Spying Ring (The Culper Ring) by Howard Brinkley. The book claims to be an imprint of BookCaps ([...]).

In the middle of this short paperback I found 32 pages titled "100 Maxims From Imam Ali (A.S) & Imam Ali Al-Rida (A.S)" of Yasin Publications inside as a part of the book.

The book is advertised as a book about the American Revolution and G W's founding of his spy network. What does Imam Ali Al-Rida have to do with George Washington's Secret Spying Ring? NOTHING!

The book was an OK read, but the author did not cite sources for his information. Without sources, I can't tell whether or not the conversations between Geo Washington and other people in the book were completely manufactured. My assumption is they were manufactured, and that made me question the veracity of everything else.
