Puffy can do no wrong, July 12, 2001
I don't care what Sean Combs has to say about this wonderful Japanese pop duo, Ami and Yumi will always be known to me as simply "Puffy". Screw copyright infringement, they were around longer than that sampling loser. Here on the US version of "Spike" the listener gets to listen to a slightly different remix of the duo's recent release, with two bonus tracks. I couldn't help but notice that production-wise that songs like "Boogie Woogie No. 5" sounds slightly different than the version found on the Japanese release. I love hearing Ami and Yumi sing in english on the bonus track "Love So Pure". That is one of my all time favorite Puffy songs. The remix I'm still iffy on but I can forgive them for that. And of course I love "December". That song is so catchy I am always humming along to the song. I hope this duo records at least one full length english album but if not, I'm contented to listening to them sing in Japan. Their music is simply too wonderful to care about what language they sing in.

Another fabulous album from Ami and Yumi, May 21, 2001
In recent months I have become obsessed with everything Puffy. First "Fever Fever", then "The Very Best of Puffy/AmiYumi Jet Fever" and now "Spike". I don't care if I had to shell out a few more bucks than your typical cd, Puffy's cds are worth the money. Where else can you hear smidgens of punk, a splatterings of rock, the occasional morsel of country, disco, surf and rockabilly mixed with a healthy dosage of pop music? Their music is a pleasure to listen, despite the language barrier. The melodies are incredible. I have never heard anything so catchy without coming off as cheesy like most today's modern pop acts found on MTV. I don't think I can go a day at work without bringing in one of Puffy's cds to listen to. Their music brightens up my otherwise dreery day of sitting in my cubicle.

Puffys Rule!!, December 24, 2000
The phenomenal Jpop band, Puffy, have once again demonstrated their genius and complete control over pop music. From their first album 'AmiYumi' to their latest, 'Spike', Puffy only gets better. This album has all the eclectic sounds that fans of Ami-chan and Yumi-chan have come to expect. From catchy pop tunes like Boogi-Woogie No 5, to the simple, touching ballad Junigatsu (December), 'Spike' is Puffy at their best! If you are looking for real Jpop, buy this CD! ^_^
