Hysterical,

Sean Rouse certainly isnt a comedian for everyone. He is foul mouthed, has a twisted sense of humor and is likely to offend most straight laced people. If you are a party animal/scumbag/love dark humor you will probably enjoy this album.
If you enjoyed watching Sean on Down and Dirty with Jim Norton youll love it. Unfortunately Sean doesn't have any other albums out. Id like to see him have his own standup DVD or at least release another album.

Why Don't You Listen,

Otherworldly timing, multiple punchlines, and an act that swerves from topic to topic like a drunk school bus driver.
Give Rouse time; on this CD he'll hit something. Probably a nerve. Rouse is more than a "l'il fellah", more than a human squidbilly, but you got to give his delivery a chance to sink in. For those who bad-mouthed him, too bad. Once you get used to him, no one will make you laugh harder. A standup-punch comic who delivers like no one else.

This is one of the best stand-ups I have heard in awhile. however, it is very offensive. if real life situations bother you, don't buy this. For those who love to laugh until it hurts, give this a try. I promise you will not be disappointed if you prefer the dark humor.

Ive seen a lot of comedians and Sean Rouse is by far one of the funniest people out there. This cd is a perfect gift for you and the family to sit around the fireplace sipping on hot chocolate and listen to Sean's Rouse life coaching. So you and your kids can be prepared for lifes upcomings. Its even a great gift for the holidays to give to your inlaws, pasters or preists. You might even live next door to a neighbor you likes to stick his nose in everyones business while keeping up his image as a good samaritan, a generous donator but still has to barrow your tools to get a job done because his family are to cheap to buy him actual tools he needs, then this is the gift to give him so you can relax in peace until the bank short sells his house. Its worth the money to spend for a great laugh!

What's the difference between a good comedian and a great one?
I really didn't know what to expect as I waited to see Sean Rouse performing live in Glasgow last year. Thankfully however, I was introduced to one of the funniest and thought provoking comedians alive today. Like all great artists, Rouse draws on his own personal experiences, hilarious and tragic alike, to amuse and enlighten his audience, but what makes him SO good is the delivery of his material. His refreshing sincerity draws you deep into his world where he heightens your sense of anticipation before blasting away the awkwardness with his brilliant comedic timing. On the surface level, some of his material could appear to be deliberately designed to enrage or offend, but is in fact cleverly constructed to point out the hypocrisy and absence of logic found in society and religion. This edge to his act can occasionally be missed by some listeners, but is usually picked up by the deeper thinkers in the audience. While I'd recommend this CD as a great introduction to Sean Rouse, he simply MUST be seen live to fully appreciate his unquestionable talent. - hix

This CD was hilarious. I heard about Sean Rouse from Doug Stanhope and I was not dissapointed. I will be sure to see Sean live if he ever comes to NY. This is a must buy if you like your stand up raw, vulgar and honest.

Uh...will this get funny soon?,

I'm flabbergasted by this cd. It's really kind of joke-free. It seems to be about a guy named Sean Rouse talking about the horrible abuse he suffered at the hands of his parents and about how he takes a lot of drugs and drinks a lot now. Subject matter that could be funny if Sean was at all likable, or there were jokes delivered instead of just ugly improvised statements made, and then some laughter. I showered, but I still feel like I've been dipped in a vat of chewing tobacco spit.
If this is your thing, seek help, and bring Sean Rouse with you. |
