5.0 out of 5 stars Two of the best from an incredible album
I recommend buying Vitalogy, but this single gives you a taste of the range of music, as well as of Ed's voice, that the full album serves up. Both songs rock, one in your face, the other in your heart.

2.0 out of 5 stars not enough here
Why do Pearl Jam only give 2 songs that is so scabby. Pixies used to always give 3 unreleased with the single (all bands should do this). Oh yeah the songs are cool just buy the album.

If you don't have Vitalogy, buy it. This is a great single. Spin the Black Circle is extremely energetic.

These are two of the best cuts from Vitalogy. Since STBC was the first single from the album, long before it was released, it was nice to get a listen to something else from Pearl Jam's much anticipated third record, but since you can get the album this CD really isn't anything special. Just buy Vitalogy and let it all sink in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spins me around!, April 10, 2002

This cd single was released as a preview of two songs "taken from the forthcoming epic release: vitalogy," therefore you will not find new sogs, bsides, or different mixes on this cd. Therefore I only recommend this cd if:
A. you are a PJ collector (obviously)
b. if you like the song and dont want to buy the whole album. (aso obvious)

"Spin the Black Circle" deals with the soothing power of Ed Vedder's record collection. In the PJ Vitalogy book "liner notes" there is a doodle that says: "save vinyl" and is also a depiction of the lead singers addiction to Vinyl LPs. One of the reasons you can get almost any PJ album on vinyl.
So this song is basically just a narration on how a record is played and how that makes him feel.

"Tremor Christ" which is one of the most occult PJ songs. This one is filled with metaphores, that all together tell a story. This story is maybe not understandable by anyone but E.V., therefore many people tend to not like this song at first, but the voice and the music is touching, and very heart felt. Its one of the best songs on "vitalogy."

2.0 out of 5 stars Buy Vitalogy, April 9, 1999

Not For You and Tremor Christ are two of Pearl Jam's more average songs. And you can find them both on Vitalogy, anyway, along with 12 others.

2.0 out of 5 stars I agree with most of the others, November 29, 2000
This review is from: Spin the Black Circle / Tremor Christ (Audio CD)
There is little point in buying this CD. It has the album versions (i.e. not live or rerecorded) of two songs: "Spin the Black Circle" and "Tremor Christ," both of which are great songs, but, like other reviewers stated, they're already found on VITALOGY. That's the reason I give it 2 stars. The same goes for the "Who You Are" single, which also has no non-album tracks.
