This item is GREAT!! I hear lots of complaints about other bubble solutions not working with other toys so here is the secret. MAKE YOUR OWN SOLUTION!!!!! Any solution you make at home is 10 times as potent as the bought stuff. They water it down so you always have to buy more. Here is the recipe:

12 Cups of water
1 cup Dish soap (not the cheap stuff, and NOT dishwasher)
3 tablespoons of glycerin (drug stores sell-lotion isle)

If you want to make a MUCH larger batch:

4 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bucket
6 cups of dish soap (not cheap or dishwasher)
1 cup of glycerin

You can store this liquid forever and it will still work so make a lot if you can and store it in sealable containers!

My son go the big bubbler from the easter bunny and we have used it just about everyday since. He loves the huge bubbles, its really a lot of fun. It is to long for a 3 year old to use alone. My son is 3 1/2 and he can pull the wand out from the holder by himself, its just to long and akward. I hold the case though and he can easily put the wand in and pull it out for the huge bubbles. I would buy it again!

I have two boys 4yrs. and 7yrs. old...And this easter...They got this item in their baskets. I MUST SAY IT IS THE COOLEST TOY! And of course being new...I had to see "just how it worked" before turning it over to them...

Well it was hard to give over. I was having such a blast with the large bubbles that it makes.

My 4 yr. old needs NO assistance in using this item. Though the area that holds the bubbles doesn't stand...And he is sort of small to hold it and enjoy the full effect of the bubble/sword maker. That I just tucked that part on a lawn chair. And they both were outside for over an hour! I was so thrilled when they found something else to do. For it left the bubbler open for mom to have her fun!

My 4 yr. old also went in a circle and made a unique bubble that looked like a donut! I wish I had my camera out for that momment. So...next time we have them out...Camera will be waiting a SWEET momment to capture.

My son received this for his 3rd birthday after seeing the commercial on Nickelodeon and asking for it every time he saw the commercial. It is really neat, actually makes the huge bubbles like on the commercial, and its easy to do. My 3 year old has no problem holding the wand and opening it and letting the wind blow the bubbles out.

Be warned though, this is kind of messy. The wand is so long and huge that when you dip it into the container with the bubble solution it drips quite a bit. So adult supervision is needed with the smaller kids. I usually hold the container and let him dip the wand into it. But he loves the toy, and he loves chasing the bubbles.

Haven't run out of solution yet, as its been only a few weeks, but will probably just make our own when it runs out. Overall I think this is a good toy to get the kids up and out of the house, which kids need more of today. And its inexpensive, and fun for the whole family.

This bubble wand can be messy but it is worth it! The bubble sop may run out fast! I loove this toy! It keeps me and my brothers occupied. I hope you have just as much fun as I did with this toy! Enjoy!

I am confused by the poor reviews of this product. My daughter received this toy from the Easter bunny this year and the whole family plus Grandparents/Aunts/Uncles etc. have had a ball with it. It creates huge bubbles round or long, that float in the air for quite a bit of time. I do agree that the solution runs out very quickly and it is too hard for a three year old to work...but for the price I have to say this toy is WELL WORTH IT! We also made our own solution (Granny's recipe) and it worked...very messy and sudsy though. I would recommend this product to anyone who loves bubbles.

Really great toy. My granddaughter loved it very much; however, there should be two containers of bubbles for the price. One container was gone with the first use.

Every year our condo building has a barbeque. I bring my sundry bubble toys that I have been collecting for over 30 years as the main entertainment for around 100 people. No toy has been as popular as this one. In fact, this year it was the Dads who took them over (I had 2 but just bought 2 more) as their kiddies had to make do with the other bubble toys. Mind you, I've never seen anyone actually try to fence with them, I would think they're too fragile for that. But my original 2 have lasted for a couple of years and have gotten a lot of play.

A couple of days ago I went to the Chicago River where we paddle canoes and thought, what the heck, I brought the swords and an old plastic jug in which I had mixed up some bubble juice (always experimenting with that but found some bio-degradable juice on line and so far so good. I don't feel quite right about spreading "Joy" or "Dawn" on the local flora and fauna.) OMG, it was soooo much easier to take the bubble swords rather than my whole set up of pans and bucket etc. etc. And yes, again, the swords were a huge hit with the kids. And the adults. Especially the one who couldn't find us but when she saw the huge bubbles in the air she came right over, knowing it was probably me. I had never thought of using bubbles as a beacon for finding someone but in the future I may use this toy again for exactly that.

One note: Last year I thought I had cleaned and dried them out sufficiently but when I opened them at the beginning of the summer they did not look or smell good at all. Pretty icky actually.

So this time I hung them upside down for a few days before I got the bright idea to cut up a piece of one of my husband's old T shirts - just a one inch looong swath and caught it in the sword part at the very tip and twirled it a little bit around the whole thing, definitely leaving a long enough tail so it couldn't get stuck down at the bottom. Then dunked it into the sheath part and dried it out in a jiffy.

I HIGHLY recommend this bubble toy.

We bought this for our son who turned 5. I was amazed at how big the bubbles could get that this thing creates. Our son loved it and our older son tried it, likes it and wants one for himself. Make sure you have extra bubbles ready, the tank get's low quick. It's an inexpensive toy that anybody can use and have fun with.

This is a great toy! My one complaint with it though is that it does not take long to run out of the bubble mixture. If you are buying this as a gift for someone you might want to include an extra container of bubble mixture with the gift.
