Mary Kaye brings the skeleton party to life. I am an elementary art teacher and the kids love the music. We all take art breaks to dance to the favorites. I have enjoyed it so much that I have taken it home and played it in my studio - it is for the young at heart too!
Hope I remember to bring it back to school on Monday!
Mary Kaye is brilliant!

Though I do not have children of my own, I was a child once and I can distinctly remember exhausting my parents because I wanted to hear the same CDs over and over again. My father cannot stand to hear certain Disney soundtracks because I overplayed them as a six-year-old while we were on family road trips. A musician like Maine singer-songwriter Mary Kaye would have been a welcome addition to our music library, and I wish we could have had Spin Your Web for those long car trips.

What makes Spin Your Web ideal for repetitive playing and road trips is its musical diversity. Mary Kaye's songs range from country to funk to rock with fun, descriptive lyrics that accentuate the different styles. Her tracks have strong instrumentals that pair well with her strong, clear voice that entices listeners to pay close attention to what will happen next. As Mary Kaye changes her musical genre with each track, it is easy to stay entertained and the question of "what comes next?" is often rewarded with new sounds.

Spin Your Web is an excellent way to introduce children to a variety of musical styles from the country swing of "Pig Party" to the R&B rhythm of "Porcupine Path". The danceable "Let's Get Dressed" is fast without becoming dizzying, and the soft melody of "Blueberry Dreams" will remind older listeners of folk singers from the 1960s.

Mary Kaye presents a variety that is sophisticated, playful, and demonstrative of the many expressive qualities of different musical genres. Children will enjoy the chanting, storytelling lyrics of Spin Your Web, while adults will be able to appreciate the musical complexity that includes an excellent performance on drums, percussion, and guitar. Mary Kaye stretches boundaries as a diverse musician who is capable of many styles, and she captures each melody with grace and skill. Unfortunately, Spin Your Web came too late to save my father from listening to "A Whole New World" 80,000 times. I work with children throughout the country creating plays addressing diversity and discrimination issues through Fringe Benefits, an educational theatre company. When I heard "Spin Your Web" I was BLOWN AWAY! The songs tell stories
so imaginatively ... and with so much humor, love and wisdom! Both my students and my friends' children LOVE singing and dancing along. Mary Kaye weaves thoughtful, soulful... life-affirming themes throughout the CD. It's a MUST HAVE!

Wow! I am amazed at the level of child-like observation and wonder that fills the songs on this CD, Spin Your Web! It's like Mary Kaye can remember and verbalize what it was like to view the world as a child... (or maybe she still thinks that way!) She presents each song's scenario so well that I feel I am there with her, exploring the sights, sounds, thoughts and reactions to each situation. And I absolutely LOVE the music! It's obvious that Mary must hear each song individually as she's creating it, because there are no cookie-cutter melodies here - each song is different, from reggae sounds to up-tempos and to quieter songs, with music to suit the mood of each. And throughout the CD I'm hearing such big, rich sounds, created by layers of rhythms and a huge variety of instruments - in different songs I think I hear xylophone, fiddles, African drums, pounding piano, a whistle, other funky percussion instruments, and maybe even a cello. How'd she get them all in the recording studio? I absolutely love this CD; I love what it reminds me of and I hope it helps my own kids to continue to view the world in the same way!
P.S. I find that I come away from this CD with feelings of love, support, and the orderly existence of the world - exactly what I continually present to my kids... now maybe the whole world should stop and listen to this CD!

As a school administrator, Mary Kaye's "Spin Your Web" is a perfect companion to a teacher's thematic study of numerous topics. Children love listening to the music and singing the lyrics of the songs on this CD. Schools that use the Responsive Classroom program can use the songs for morning meetings and as a way to talk about children friendly issues. Personally, I listen to the CD on the way to school in the mornings and it starts my day out on a positive, upbeat note. This is the best of Mary Kaye's CD's yet!

I love Spin Your Web by Mary Kaye! I'm studying to be a teacher in New Hampshire and have used this CD in my student teaching. My first graders have truly enjoyed this CD. They love listening to "Let's Get Dressed" and they like to act it out every time! "Pig Party" is another favorite that they like to listen to just before recess. Mary also has a song called "Shadow" that we tend to listen to at the end of the day for its soothing qualities. Mary's voice is beautiful and fun and the CD is definitely one to have in your collection.

Mary Kaye's music is a MUST have for our family! It keeps us all- young and old- entertained and invites each listener to start their imagination on a journey of fun, dance and enjoyment. Mary's stories and music are filled with wonder and "spin a tale" for every listener. We are always looking forward to Mary's next CD!

My daughter is 3 and she loves to hear this CD over and over again!! Her favorite songs are "Soup" and "Pig Party". We love it too... "Spin Your Web" and "The Skeleton Song" are our favorites. Mary Kaye is really able to capture what it is like to be a child. Her music doesn't talk down to kids. It is creative and fun and truly original. It is beautiful! I'm so glad we got "Spin Your Web" and Mary Kaye's other two CDs. They will always be a part of my daughter's childhood and my memory of this incredible time!

This CD is FULL of energy. The lyrics are smart and the musical styles teach our kids about music from around the world. A great way to wake up in the morning. The songs connect to real life and imagination. Our kids are singing them all the time. Much better than most of what one hears for "Kids Music".

Once again, Mary Kaye provides kids and parents with music they can both enjoy! This CD is another hit!!
