The only problem that i have with this toy is that the cord to the base isnt really long enough, and one of the markers should be black, but it's brown. All of this is overlookable though. Why? Because it's fun to play with! the tattoos last a few days, even if you wash your hands a lot. Also if you a grown up child who likes tattoos, it helps you decide what you're getting next and where to put it!

We bought this for our 8 year old son for Christmas. It's a pretty cool toy. We attended a New Year's party and my son wanted to take this along. There were a few kids there, and they loved this toy. But what surprised me was how much the adults loved it. My son spent the last hour or more giving the adults "tattoos." It turned out to be the life of the party.

My four year old son got this today, and it was the first present played with when we got home. He and his seven year old brother are quickly becoming covered in tattoos... It is really hilarious.

Got this for my son for Christmas and he absolutely loves it! It's really easy to use and lots of fun. The price is pretty decent too. The red does tend to bleed a bit but he gets around that by using it as a fill or detail colour (eg. black cobra with red eyes). Before I bought it I checked online for refills and new stencils. The only site I've found them on so far is Toysrus.ca and they only ship within Canada, which is still not bad because I can always get someone to bring it over.

My nephew loves getting tattoos whenever we go to a fair or place that does temporary tattoos and he is always buying temporary tattoo stickers. I saw this and thought of him instantly. He is 6 and he is using it easily once we showed him how. Now the whole family has tattoos by him. The red ink is a little harder to get off then the others. I am hoping we can find refills or other pens that will fit when these pens dry up.

I'm stunned that this toy is still on the market and to top it off the manufacture purports it to be non-toxic. The tattoo stencils contain toluene. This chemical can potentially cause severe neurological harm. From the CDC's Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry; "Toluene should not be inhaled due to its health effects. Low to moderate levels can cause tiredness, confusion, weakness, drunken-type actions, memory loss, nausea, loss of appetite, and hearing and color vision loss. These symptoms usually disappear when exposure is stopped. Inhaling high levels of toluene in a short time may cause light-headedness, nausea, or sleepiness. It can also cause unconsciousness, and even death. Toluene may negatively affect kidney function."

The toy has been identified by a number of consumer protection groups as dangerous and regularly shows up on "Dangerous Christmas Toys" lists. The only reason I'm writing this is because so many of the other reviewers are praising this as such a wonderful toy without understanding the contents of the stencils.

I wrote a similar review of this toy a few years ago and noticed it was deleted almost immediately; suspect the same fate will happen to this version. To Amazon, this isn't an opinion it's a fact - look it up yourself! for starters see bottom of page 48 at [...]

We bought this for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas,she wanted the girly airbrush tatto maker but the reveiws were terrible, so we decided on this one. This was easy to put together and very easy to use. My 3 GIRLS loved tattooing each other. They "Tatted" my husband all up ...LOL LOL LOL... But the funny part was that the ink does not come off very well so he had to go to work for 2 days with the tattoos on all over his neck and arms LOL LOL...
We had ALOT of fun with this but beware the ink is semi permanent. :)

This was purchased for my 5 year old last Christmas and is still making its mark today! It is easy to use and to figure out but it does hurt some of the younger kids with it's poking style. My son puts tattoos all over himself, our family and most visitors. I wish that the stencils were longer lasting (they are just stickers and we've thrown them all away) and that it had the option of a refill package for replacement markers and stencils.

I bought this toy because it seemed fun since my kids love tattoos. They enjoyed it immensely but after much thought, I have realized that it's just an ordinary pen that was hyped up. It turned out to be a pretty expensive pen with expensive refills. It also takes a bit of practice to do it properly. But in the end I am happy cuz it was appreciated by my kids.

My 7 year old son has a ball making his own tattoos. The only thing is the marker smears so by the time we're finished it's hard to tell what we were aiming for.
