i bought this to spread sand and salt on my driveway. setting the spread rate to a low setting causes the salt to bind and stall the drive motor. i need to spread on the heavy side in order to spread it at all.

it seems to spread fertilizer and seed much better, however in both cases the spread pattern is relatively narrow, maybe 45 degrees or less. i'm afraid this will mean fertilizer streaks on the lawn.

I bought this SpinTeck seeder to plant my 5 acres using my four wheeler, with different kinds of seed, and I mounted it on the front.The mounting was pretty easy after I got it together, I had to go on line to SpinTeck for better directions. The coarse seed such as sorghum sudan spreads good set at 1/8', about 20 feet to the front and each side. I had to make a shield to block the seed from hitting me, and I recomend wearing safety glasses. When I tried to plant the fine seed such as Rye and Alfalfa it was difficult to get it set to 1/16" after I got it set and started planting I found it only spread about the width of the four wheeler,unforchinitly the wind picked up,I don't know if that makes any difference. The wind did not effect the coarse seed. I like the chart that come on the inside of the lid that shows the setting for each type of seed and how many pounds to apply per acre. What use to take hours to plant one acre of Sorgum Sudan only takes minutes with this spreader.

Good deal for the money.

I attached it to a Simplicity tractor, and it worked fantastically!

Exactly as the literature said it would. It was easily attached in just a few minutes, and then did in 3 minutes what used to take me half an hour.
