I messed around with this product for 4 hours over the weekend following the instructions explicitly. To start off with you have to have your lure in just the right position ( not so easy ) to get the lin to feed through. IF ( big if ) the line successfully feeds through then you're halfway there. After that you would think the machin would wrap the not well enough for you to simply tighten it. It doesn't always do this successfully or perfectly.

If it does get the line wrapped to the point where you can tighten it then tightening it becomes a chore because the knot is a mess. Looks like what some would call a birds nest....wind knot.....whatever. It looks like all those things that fisherman have to deal with from time to time at the worst possible moment then spend the next 15 minutes trying to untangle so they can get back to fishing.

Ok lets say you manage to get it tightened to the point where you think its a fishable knot but it doesn't look anything like the perfect Uni-knots you have become accustomed to tying on yer own. It just looks like a ball knot. Would you trust it? I know I sure wouldn't trust it with a $12 lure.

I tried this with various lines from 8lb ( even though it doesn't boast this ) up to 15 lbs. It just isn't reliable enough to warrant the cost. I probably got 3 knot wraps the entire time though they WERE NOT EVEN CLOSE to what a finished uni-knot show look like.

Even if I don't wear my glasses to see close up ( I need to) I can still tye a uni-knot faster and better than this thing can........... and I can do it every time where as this thing cannot.

I purchased 3 of these when I first saw it, I thought my fishing buddy's would enjoy it.. It took awhile to get the hang of it... but it doesn't take long to master it. My only dissapointment was the size of fishing line used. I originally purchased it for salt water use but it doesn't work for that. It works fine for the smaller lines for freshwater! Christmas is comming.... someone will get one in their stocking....... Ho ! Ho! Ho!

I am not happy with this item. It waste alot of line to make one knot and it does not work 100% of the time. In fact it does not work 50% of the time. It is not user frindly. The line it needs is 12 lbs and it must be very straight for the first 5 inches or it will not work. It can be fusterating and it would be better to buy a strong pair of magnified glasses at the store and tie your own knot by hand. This is alot faster and cheaper!

I was excited about this item when I read about it in a BASSmaster magazine. I ordered it immediately. This tool does not consistently tie knots. The line diameter limitation is too restrictive and doesn't always work even with lines that do fall within the limted diameter. I tried tying a knot on a Rapala Shad Rap and it worked on 2 out of 8 attempts.

For an angler to rely on a tool like this it has to work consistently. Don't waste your money!

Unpacked and read the directions as best you could. So many versions of directions. Tied the first knot, pretty good. Tried to tie a second knot and the tool jammed.
I would not recommend this tool to anyone. I can tie a knot quicker by hand then this tool can.

works great on larger line. not so good on six pound test.
It is fun to operate and gets a lot of attention. it is
a good conversation piece.

Just received my Knot Tying Tool. It does exactly as described but limited to an "eyelet size" on your bait that will fit the tool. It will not work on jig heads. Eyelet on jigs too small. It will not work on various sizes of hooks. I tried a #4 circle hook. Eyelet was too small to fit the tool. It does work well on crank baits, spinner baits, top water baits because they usually have large eyelets. So just be aware of the intended use you have in
mind.

It does not work all time, you have to have the right size line and right size eye on the hook. I only got it to work one time out of 10. So I give it a no buy.

I bought this tool for my fiancee last summer. It is a total waste of money. We tried tying knots for several hours and it worked once or twice. Unfortunately we waited too long and can't return it.

Did not work as advertised ! Just made a big mess out of the line . Tried it using Fluorocarbin . Would not work with Firewire either ! E-mailed spinmade uniknot corp. before purchasing to find out what type's of line would work with this product no reply from them. After purchasing it said it would work with Fluorocarbin , and Monofilament. DID NOT TRY MONO !!!!!!!!!!!
