4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but a little fragile
Hi all you R/C'ers.
OK, I have tons of R/C cars ranging from these sub $20 cars to $500 Xrays. I guess you can call me an R/C nut. Anyway, when my son received one of these for his birthday present, I thought this is pretty cool. It has suspension (although pretty simple) and even a turbo boost button. When I first tried to charge it, it didn't seem to work...

Regardless of the size description given (2.5 by 7.5 by 6.6 inches), the actual size of this toy is 1.5 by 1.5 by 2.5 inches. The box that it comes in fits the larger dimensions.

When I first tried to charge it, it didn't seem to work. Disappointed, I went to the store (amazon didn't have any yet) and purchased another to try it out. That one worked fine, and I tried to deduce if the original car or charger was bad by swapping each. It turns out I wasn't charging it right (user error), but after I figured that out, all was good. So we have two of these, and one of those cars that can run up walls. We also have hardwood floors, which is perfect for these little cars. We often play "tag" with the cars and they run perfect on the flat surface. Charge time is about 90 sec (you have to press the turbo button while charging) and runtime is about 8-10 min? (actually haven't timed it). For the price, it's a pretty good deal - but don't expect a high-performance racing machine. Come on,$15 is pretty cheap when it comes to R/C. You'll also notice that the front tires sometimes snap out of the steering arm. It's not a problem and can easily be snapped back in, but don't get worried or mad when this happens. Think about it, would you rather have a busted piece of plastic or something that's designed to breakaway on impact and can be reset? Anyway, pretty cool for the price. My 5 year old son and 8 yo daughter love the tag racing. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Whole family loves them, December 28, 2009

I bought 5 of these at Target before Christmas as an almost afterthought stocking stuffer. Our 3 kids and my wife and I love them. We haven't tried driving them over stuff because A) they're really small, and B) they're a ton of fun just driving around the living room on the hardwood floors. They charge up in about a minute and drive for 5+ minutes at a time. We had all 4 going at the same time playing car tag, racing, etc. I'm actually on here shopping for more as replacements for when ours break. They're really durable and you can take everything important off of them in seconds for cleaning.

Couple of notes: first, batteries go into the charger differently than you usually see--the positive and negatives all point the same direction, where most other toys alternate. Easy to figure out but now what we were used to.

Putting them on the charger takes a few minutes to figure out. Some of ours have an arrow on the car and on the charger that you line up, some don't. Once you figure it out, it's very easy. When the car is connected, just hit the charge button and wait for the green light to turn off.

The charge button is also the turbo button when driving--they're much more fun in turbo speed.

If you charge them and they won't go, it's because the car automatically turns off after a few minutes of no use. Cycle the on/off switch on the car and it should work fine.

If the car is acting weird, slow, or won't go it's probably because you have a hair in the rear wheels/gears. Snap the rear axle off, take the big gear (white plastic) off of the post that connects to the motor and clean it (takes less than 30 seconds). Put it all back together and it will probably work great. I'll bet most problems people have with these comes from hair or carpet fibers wrapped around the gears.

I want to begin this review by saying that I was skeptical to buy them based on the wide variety of reviews.
I am pleased to say that Santa brought them very early this morning and they have been played with by everyone in the house for the last 10 hours. What a blast! No, they are not meant for a three year old. The youngest owner in my house is 10 and the oldest is ohhhhhhhh..grandpa! Amazing little fun pocket stocking stuffer at a great price! $7.99 was indeed a deal and we are racing them around the kitchen. Okay, it was a little bit of a problem when I saw it zooming toward me across the table during Christmas dinner! :-) Fun and durable when taken care of. No, I don't see it climbing over things, but we haven't really gone that route yet. Right now, we are still just racing them and having a good time! For the price, it's worth the price if they last through the evening.
Before you buy anything, keep in mind the "child" you are buying them for and if they can handle it. This is not meant for a young child and no, it probably won't hold up to what a three year old can do to it. If it has lasted with my 10 year old and all the smiles, it is worthy of my five stars!!!

Picked up two of these, the red one shown and a blue one at toyrus for 12 bucks each. They charged just fine and you just press the button and let go to charge, not hold it as one reviewer said. They are fun little cars. One reviewer said charge didnt last long, they actually work ALOT lonnger then i expected. Big hit at home. Plane on getting more and building a little race track for them. For the money, i call it cheap fun for the whole family.

I bought two of those mini RCs(blue and red ones), for 4 and 5 year old boys. They have a great fun playing with those RC `mise'. Please note that those cars do NOT really brake! They built nice, so if something happens, for example, with a wheel you can easily put it back and continue playing(I recommend to look at the manual). We have been playing with the cars for five days and still do. Nice cars, especially if you like RC toys.

Just like the commercial says, this little guy can do it all! It's pretty quick for its size, and the turbo button is way cool. I also like how the suspension does what it's supposed to do. It took a little bit to figure out how to charge it, but after that, it zipped along just fine. It even goes on pavement and even better on concrete. Seeing the gears turn and the springs work is pretty neat. It has fallen off of my table often and seems no worse for wear, only possibly popping the front wheels back into place. I would definitely recommend these to others.

This toy demonstrated on TV that it would do extreme tricks and climb over lots of stuff. We've experimented with all of the items it shows it climbing over on TV and it doesn't do any of the stunts. It barely can go up a Hotwheels ramp. It doesn't perform extreme tricks. The best part about this toy is it is a cute little remote control car. We are considering returning it.

I bought 2 of these for my sons at Walmart for about $15 each. We had them less than 1 day and the wheels fell off one, and the other wouldn't charge and wheels wouldn't spin. We're returning them. It was fun while it worked, but that was for only for a few hours!

This little car rocks! I don't know why anybody would give it a negative review. Just because it's tiny doesn't make it boring. It's the perfect car for indoor driving. It is actually pretty quick for its size and as advertised, it can pull stunts and climb over things relatively easily. Overall, this is one nice car, and I would recommend it to any one looking for some fun!
