A Must-Have,
By A Customer
This review is from: Spinning Spells, Weaving Wonders: Modern Magic for Everyday Life (Paperback)
A short, sweet, and simple book that every Pagan should own! It has hundreds of spells and rituals, all of which would be of use to anyone. It starts off with a chapter explaining magic and how to create your own spells, and in the back you'll find a nifty little index explaining many things, not to mention tons of craft ideas. It's very easy to use and perfect for the beginner, and esp. would benefit one more experienced. Trish: good job!

Excellent information about SpellCraft.,
This review is from: Spinning Spells, Weaving Wonders: Modern Magic for Everyday Life (Paperback)
This book provides so much information about so many topics it suprised me! It contains great information about what magick is and when it is used in religion, the history of magick, what spells are and the components of spells, 10 steps to creating your very own folk spells (which may make some people including myself wonder who all those guardians she wants you to pray too are and if they really exist?), 318 positive spells from Abundance spells to Zeal spells. Some of the spells do require some odd items and she doesn't explain how to cast spells very well and it also makes you wonder who came up with the spell and if anyone has actually tried it, but it does contain some practical and complex (some people like complex spells which aren't necessary for magickal success according to the author and myself) for many instances, wants, and needs. Next, it contains good information on how to create magickal items such as Windchimes, wands, candles....etc. It then contains good and extensive correspondence information about so many items and also a few pages reguarding deities and what they are related to and where they are of origin. Although some places in this book make me wonder, the book itself is good and the author is one of the most positive people I have ever read. So, if you want to add a little magick into your life, read Spinning Spells, Weaving Wonders Modern Magic for Everyday Life by Patricia Telesco!!!!

An excellent grimoire of spells,
By A Customer
This review is from: Spinning Spells, Weaving Wonders: Modern Magic for Everyday Life (Paperback)
This is a great book! While there are many books of spells on the market, many of them are better left as novelty party favors. Telesco's book is filled with practical magic that can be applied to everyday situations with the conveniences of the modern world like your blender and first aid cream! As a dedicated practicing witch, I consider it an invaluable resource.

A very approachable introduction to folk magic.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Spinning Spells, Weaving Wonders: Modern Magic for Everyday Life (Paperback)
This was my first book on folk magic and the Craft. It's sensible, gentle presentation eased my fears and gave me the confidence neccessary to begin study. It has excellent correspondence tables and many, many spells, as well as hints on creating your own. Very hands-on. It doesn't include much in-depth discussion on other aspects and paths, but is an excelent beginner's book. I reccommend thus for anyone just beginning to explore the Craft or folk magic, or as a reference for anyone looking for new spells.

My favourite book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Spinning Spells, Weaving Wonders: Modern Magic for Everyday Life (Paperback)
This is, by far, my favourite book on spellcasting simply because it is so accessible for everyone. It is not a recipe book like most, but instead gives you props and focals so that you can create your own spells, which are, of course, the best. It was my first book on magick and I'm glad I started off so well. A must-have!

Create YOUR spells easily and efficiently,

This review is from: Spinning Spells, Weaving Wonders: Modern Magic for Everyday Life (Paperback)
This is not yet another collection of spells, it is a guide to how you can write your own. Reference and associations along with guidelines make it easy to write your own spellcraft with the knowledge that you are using systems which have worked for others.

This book has some very interesting spells. None of this book is black magic and so I like it. The thing I liked about this book was that it tells you how to come up with your very own spells.
