The Spira Stinger Competition Women is a lightweight, well-cushioned running shoe that provides a high level of responsiveness and protection against fatigue issues normally associated with lightweight racing shoes. This women's running shoe combines a level of cushioning and responsiveness that is difficult to achieve for a shoe in this weight category. The patented WaveSpring is located in the forefoot and heel for maximum impact absorption and energy return. The midfoot is supported by a molded external shank support to aid in tensional stability. This Spira running shoe reduces peak impact forces by 20% while returning up to 96% of energy otherwise lost to the ground. What more can I say, this is my third pair of Stingers. I got this red pair because I wanted a change from the yellow. These are my all-purpose shoes, a welcome relief from work-day heels.

I tried these on at a race expo after running the day before and had to have them. They are like slippers you can run in! So light and comfortable - after running/working out in them my flip-flops felt like they weighed a ton, these are sooo light. They have a lot of room up front but don't feel too big. I can't imagine putting on my old shoes now. Definitely recommend.

I am a long time Spira shoes customer, maybe seven years. I have used the leather shoes and mesh shoes. I have been pain free these many years. I wore the Stinger shoes for seven weeks. Despite having three coils, they don't absord the shock very well, possibly because the soles are very thin. You can feel everything underfoot. I used these shoes for hiking and work. The red part of the outer sole is glued on and that came off right away. I have developed pain and swelling in the forefoot (ball-of-foot)while wearing these shoes, and cannot not wear them any longer. I gave it two stars because the toe region is very roomy, and the rest of the shoe is well constructed.
