Kim reaches a wider, more contemporary audience with this recording. This is a good recording for a new listener to start with and a good addition for her fans. If you like this, you may also like the two recordings that I consider her best works. Wild Iris w/Steve Kujala and Angels in Disquise w/Alasdair Fraser. I've listened to Celtic music since 1971. I regard Angels in Disquise as one of the finest Celtic harp recordings ever made, even though it has some classical and other folk tunes on it. I put it close to Alan Stivell's Renaissance of the Celtic Harp. Enjoy!

Kim Robertson has once again provided us with her popular and reputable harp playing, and in addition, her beautiful voice! The CD is not as good as some of her other recordings but still should be listened to and greatly enjoyed! The Celtic music she plays is accompanied in various songs with *French* lyrics, which adds a whole new flavor to it! Great...

If you like Loreena McKennitt, or good, imaginative harp music, you will enjoy this CD. I've become somewhat addicted to it, listening to it about every other day. It has songs on it that I've been thinking of when I wake up.

Compelling arrangements, sparkling harpistry and tantalizing vocals, along with no less than seventeen backup instrumentalists including Seamus Egan on whistles, Win Horan on fiddle, John Williams on accordion and Jackie Moran on world percussion. From lilting and graceful to driving and "bouncy" (as Robertson's mother phrases it), these selections will win your heart. "The Spiral Gate" is Kim Robertson's Narada debut, and after decades of beautiful and innovative artistry, it is wonderful to finally see her receiving mainstream recognition and exposure! Her extensive discography prior to this release is also well worth checking into, as is her subsequent Narada recording, "Dance to Your Shadow". If you like the ensemble work of Kim Robertson, you might also like that of harpist Lisa Lynne on releases such as "Seasons of the Soul", "Daughters of the Celtic Moon", and "Maiden's Prayer".
