Good To The Last Drop,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Spirit Of 76: Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I've actually seen the film Spirit Of '76. Quite an interesting piece. With Characters such as Eddie "The Bonemaster", the film is certainly enjoyable. This album provides an awesome mix of funky tunes. It'll have you Kung-Fu Fighting, Takin' Care Of Business and doing The hustle for dessert. The huge variety is excellent for parties or that long drive home after work.

IF THE SPIRIT MOVES YOU...,

SPIRIT OF '76/ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK-VARIOUS ARTISTS: From the so-awful-it's-terrific David Cassidy straight-to-video epic SPIRIT OF '76, this likable soundtrack is a pastiche of disco kitsch with a couple of rock dinosaurs mixed in for good measure. Grand Funk and B.T.O. (think their biggest hits) and those briefly hot Scots the Bay City Rollers' foot stomping spelling bee SATURDAY NIGHT break up the dance fever domination of Van McCoy's THE HUSTLE, Walter Murphy's A FIFTH OF BEETHOVEN, and Carl Douglas' KUNG FU FIGHTING. For a punkier punch, movie co-stars REDD KROSS contribute the new cut 1976 and the Dickies sing the soundtrack title tune. If you can't find the video, you at least owe it to yourself to sample the music...you'll be flashing back to the days of bad fashion, silly catch phrases, and feathered hairstyles quicker than you can say AM RADIO.

Decent 70's soundtrack to a movie that no one remembers,

I remember seeing the film on cable in the 1990's. Certainly NOT a big budget film, do NOT even remember it being released.
If you are a fan of the music from this era you will like the CD. You can find most of these songs on any number of CD's so nothing special about it. Several hit songs, but as I state, you can find a lot of these songs on any number of CD's.

Great soundtrack, but in the movie you could hear Disco Tex and the Sexolets, but not on this.
