4.0 out of 5 stars A delightful supernatural romance, June 2, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Spirit Catcher (Paperback)
Actress Dallas James and some compatriots buy a small ghost town in Colorado and begin to perform old fashioned western gunfights to draw tourists. However, during one particular show, Dallas observes an individual wearing full western garb trying to stop the show. No one else sees the man.

Sheriff Boone Cantrell is bewildered by the fact that everyone seems to be ignoring his efforts to stop the gunfight. The confused Boone remembers that in 1876 he was betrayed by his girl friend Margo, which led to his being ambushed by Angus Rowland and members of his Inferno Mining Company. Now, he seems to have come back from the dead in 1998, but the only person who sees him is Dallas. Things clear up a bit when the descendent of the murdering duo, Meghan Rowland, arrives with plans to mine the area. Boone feels he is getting a second chance to fix a century old wrong. However, he never counted on falling in love with a mortal, who, in turn, loves him back.

SPIRIT CATCHER is a fun to read supernatural romance that cleverly adds elements from the western romance sub-genre to bring much depth to the overall novel. The lead characters are the classic star-crossed wannabe lovers, who star in a story where justice and love struggle to overcome some very large obstacles.. Elizabeth Hallam has written a terrific tale that will please fans of otherworldly romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars A ghost romance that really grabs the reader, April 19, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Spirit Catcher (Paperback)
What an entertaining book! A modern-day Western with a finely plotted mystery and a really sexy ghost of a hero. I've just discovered this author and am trying to read all of her books I can find. She creates intriguing plots and I love her characters. This one would make a great movie.

2.0 out of 5 stars Almost there, May 10, 1999

This review is from: Spirit Catcher (Paperback)
The book starts off rather well and gives the reader a good run toward believing the idea that a young woman has fallen for a ghost that has returned to save the town of Fury and a big piece of Arapaho land from miners who are only after the Almighty Dollar. However, the end becomes too reminiscent of ye old TV series Dark Shadows.
