3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but certainly not the best.
Too much Paige and Phoebe, not enough Piper. The ending was a little abrupt as well.

the vacation is anything but relaxing. it seems that the resort
is on disputed lands that a native american tribe is claiming is
theirs. is all the super natural happening being caused by the
tribe who want their land back? or is it something more sinister
than that? in the end the power of three will have to come into
play to settle this along with leo and cole. i found it nice that
the author threw in cole and leo and gave us an up to date book
with paige in it. although i am still a big prue fan, the books
have to get updated to fit the tv show. this was not one of the
best charmed books to date, but it had a few good spots in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spirit Of The Wolf ROCKS, June 25, 2002
A Kid's Review
Piper and Leo want some privacy around the Halliwel Manor. Well they're in luck. Pheobeis looking for a job and she finds one that happeneds to be for the same magazine that Prue used to work at. So they give Pheobe a chance. Pheobe has to take pictures ,for the zine, of a Sierra Nevada resort. But recently at that resort there have been deadly pranks such as a tree bursting into flames and a skull oozing blood, and there's a wolf that vanishes like a ghost. Yet Pheobe doesn't know that. But she'll find out with Paige. Pheobe had invited Paige to come along to get to know eachother since they had recently met.

When the sisters arrive the tricks start again. The sisters and the police think the culprit is a nearly distinct indian tribe with a shamon that is very powerful. The shamon knows the key on how to vanquish this wolf, but noone can get him to speek. The sisters summon Piper, Leo, and Cole for some guidence. But are they still prepared to fight the demon behind this?

4.0 out of 5 stars Just like watching an episode, January 8, 2003
By
Erika Soeterik (Auckland, New Zealand) - See all my reviews
Phoebe is going to go on assignment as a photographer for 415 - the magazine that Prue had worked for. It involves a trip to a new survivalist resort, which seems like a perfect time to take Paige on a sisters bonding weekend. Piper and Leo are looking forward to a weekend by themselves, but nothing goes to plan. A series of spooky and dangerous events leave Phoebe and Paige in real danger - but they have a chance to stop the magic that surrounds the resort. The three sisters must come together to outsmart an ancient evil.

Sometimes books based on a TV series fail to capture you because the person obviously hasn't watched enough episodes to really figure out the characters - or worse hasn't watched any at all. You don't get that with this book - it really is like it was an episode written for the series. Everyones little quirks are there, and you can just see the look on Pipers face when she and Leo get interrupted again!

This book comes highly reccomended - as do all the TV novelisations by this author - she has a real feel for the shows and the only author who matches the quality/goes past her work is Christopher Golden. Enjoy the episode.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Charmed Edition, December 17, 2007
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Phoebe's recent job hunt lands her a small gig with 415 magazine, the magazine that Prue was working with before she died. This assignment is a photography assignment which means Phoebe must dig in the attic to find Prue's old camera. Because Piper feels like she and Leo never get any time to them selves anymore, Phoebe offers to take Paige, their newly discovered half sister with her, so Piper and Leo can get some peace and quiet. However, things don't go as planned.

Paige and Phoebe end up attending a wilderness camp with other journalists and photographers. That weekend is for positive exposure of a wilderness camp for business types wanting to gain some outdoor experience. Before the girls arrive, strange things start happening, like trees that spontaneously combust and levitating beds. At home, Piper and Leo can't get a moment's rest while things happen to Piper's club, P3, and a water line break, with the possibility of a gas leak.

The Charmed One's, along with Leo's help, embark on a journey to help Native American's, become reunited with the land that was stolen from them thanks to a spirit that roams the woods, along with the spirit of a wolf that just wants Phoebe's attention.

My first Charmed book read and definitely not my last.

4.0 out of 5 stars Favourite!, July 20, 2006
I read this book a few years ago so I don't know if I would feel the same way now, but this was by far my favourite charmed book. It had an awesome plot, and it was much scarier than the other ones and more mature than the others. I loved this book, it was fantastic!

2.0 out of 5 stars Quite the let-down.... Too abrupt an ending.., November 30, 2005
Not only was the ending too abrupt, some questions of this book just was not answered satisfactorily. Firstly, this did not seem like a Charmed book. It was more of a mediocore horror or sci-fic novel with the aspects of the rudimentary Charmed added to it. For starters, so many (confusing) parts of the book infuriated me so much that I continued reading it for the sake of finishing it and getting it over and done with. Not only that, the author of this book focused so much on the non-Charmed-propertions of the plot, that it practically caused a debacle in the entire Charmed book series.

Also, what I disliked most about this book is how the so-called demons in this book did not get any mention after the "bad guy" got vanquished. The point is, it is these two goons who pretty much caused the entire spectacle of the story, that Diana G.Gallgher did not state what their reactions were, what happened to them or what they were going to do now, etc. Maybe it just me, but this book just did not flow with me. In my opinion, I wouldn't recommend it, and I would encourage non-Charmed readers to get othe Charmed book, than this.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Love It!, April 20, 2004
I love this book! Anyone who enjoys charmed will love this book! Even if you dont like charmed and just like mystery or si-fi will enjoy this fun filled mystery! It has everything a book could have! including, romance, young romance, action, comedy, and is even kind of a thriller! The only problem I had with this book is that it can get a little confusing in parts. Somtimes I can't figure out were they are, who is talking and whats is going on! Over all I deffenatly think everyone should read this book! I love it!
