Spirit Horses Calms,

Even if you HATE classical music this cd will calm and soothe you. I have listened to this cd to fall asleep and to ease my mind when stressed (great backround music), while getting massaged and when ill. There is something magical about this music. I can't usually stand too much music that is soft and sweet but this cd is the answer to most of your problems.....

Glorious Music,

I discovered "Spirit Horses" several years ago, and have returned to it again and again. The gorgeous "Premonitions of Christopher Columbus" and the title piece, "Spirit Horses," achieve a wonderful synthesis of traditional Native American flute music (played by the national treasure R. Carlos Nakai) and more contemporary musical idioms. Endlessly evocative, this is music of a very high caliber.

Spirit Horses (Concerto for Native Amer. Flute & Chamber),
By Robert <t>< "jcwalker3usa" (TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Spirit Horses (Concerto for Native American Flute and Chamber Orchestra) (Audio CD)
This is not traditional native american music to say the least. My thinking reading the discription and one review was that the orchestra background would be of beautiful strings and flowing melody following the flute but to the contrary. It ends up sounding like one these coffee shop futuristic mind tripped messes someone thought might be hip but hey I'm only 1/4 Cherokee what do I know.
