Amid the fluff and poorly-crafted analogies that abound in Christian fiction, these books are exemplary of good, solid writing. All of the books in this set are entertaining, endearing, and sometimes firghteningly realistic.

My Grandma Burtz gave me the first copy of this series when I was a young teen. I soon aquired the rest and enjoyed the whole series. I was and still am a VERY picky reader. This series kept me captivated thoughout and planted seeds of God's love that would grow later in life. If you're a parent, grandparent, or just someone with a kid in mind you'd like to see have a deeper knowledge of God and his character, then this is the perfect gift. The message is hidden a bit, much like C.S. Lewis has done with the Narnia Series. You don't have to know God to enjoy this book, but you will at least know of him when you're done.

We are a homeschool family and take literature seriously. This series was highly recommended and well deserved the recommendation. My son finished the first four books in less than a month. He ordered the next four with his own money and had them read in less than two weeks. His only desire is for Mr. Bibee to write more. My son is nine, and the most encouraging part of this series was the spurring on to think on a higher level with the alagories presented in this book. thanks for the great prices and service.

I just have to say that these books have influenced me throughout my life. 21 years ago, as a 4th grader, my teacher read these books to our class and they instantly gripped me. As an adult, I still remembered them and was thrilled when I found the whole series on Amazon a couple years back. I bought the whole series and reread it in its entirety. I liked it even more as an adult because I understood more of the symbolism. They are an absolutely incredible picture of the battle we as Christians face against a very real enemy, and the God who loves us and wants desperately for us to be free in Him. I have 3 children of my own now and can't wait until they are old enough to read these books. I plan on reading them together as a family so that we can really get into good discussions about how the events in the book mirror the Christian life.

This series is an excellent starting point for thinking about spiritual realities - bondage and freedom, the Kingdom of Heaven and the rule of evil in this present age, standing strong in the face of strong evil. The stories show evil for what it is, including how powerful it sometimes seems and how easily it can spread when people are afraid... but there is always the confidence that the Kingdom is stronger, and it is clear who will be victorious in the end.

My 29 yr old son and I read these books when he was about 12 yrs old and enjoyed them. I am now ordering them for my 11 yr old son. Very worthwhile reading. Thought provoking.

Recommended to us by a third/fourth grade Sunday School teacher who loves to see kids' faith grow.

We read a chapter or two every night. My nine-year-old really loves it. He is drawn in by the adventure. But it is also exciting to see him engage with the spiritual aspect, recognizing queues for good and evil, anticipating the consequences of good and bad choices. My six-year-old enjoys it but is sometimes bored by all the dialog. I let him look at another picture book next to me and brother, so he can track the story and join the discussion. This works for him.

To be honest, there's a lot of suspense and some scary elements. The kids can sometimes look at the world "in a deeper way" and see evil manifested as snakes and bondage to sin as chains. For my boys, it raises the stakes in the story... making very real the consequences of our choices, and how others influence us.

The story always is told from kids' perspective. The kids' faith and choices are very much their own, not a product of their parents or other adults. It has a strong theme of peer-pressure and influence. It reinforces the importance of choosing to please God, not peers, and that doing so will not always be easy. It prepares my boys for the teasing and alienation that can come from being open about your faith. It encourages them to cultivate friendships with other believing kids, but to also show kindness and reach out to those who don't believe. It addresses how even believers can get wrapped up in the world and need help.

Overall, highly recommended.
