5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Beginners Guide For Understanding Spirits
This is the first book I recommend to people who are just beginning a search into the spiritual realm. Iris Belhayes provides common sense information about what a guide is, how to contact your guide and more importantly why and how you can work with your guide to expand your own inner awareness. Required reading for those who wish to work with spirit.

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting
The beginning half of this book was amazing. I found great insights into the spiritual world. The second half seemed like a replay of the first with a few more details. This is the only spiritual book I've read. With nothing to compare it to, I'd say it's not a must but it was a good read, the first half anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best I've seen on this subject!!!!, January 26, 1998

Just a hasty note -- This is the best book I have seen on this subject in 20 years! It takes a balanced view: some guides very worthwhile, some troublesome, and the wisdom/techniques to know the difference. A very 'level playing-field' approach: she's obviously doing it right herself, all the time, and you can pick up the knack/feeling of how to do it, just by reading the book. The author's calm, sensible, tolerant, sympathetic personality comes through. Could use better editing and a more professional cover, but the content is solid and worthwhile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enlighting and Interesting, May 14, 2000
This review is from: Spirit Guides (Paperback)
This has been one of the best books I have read on this subject. It has helped me to contact with my Spirit Guide. it also provides great information on what spirit guides actually are and where they come from. It also provides interesting information on contacting your guides. I personally recomend this book to all members of my coven as well as non-pagan friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book I ever read on this subject, August 7, 2006
This review is from: Spirit Guides (Paperback)
Because my professional healing practice includes giving Spirit Guide readings and telepathic communication with animals here and on the other side, I am often asked by clients for book recommendations to help them understand the relationship we have to our Guides, and issues of life beyond earth. I have been studying metaphysics for over twenty years and have read many books describing spirit guides and the other topics in this book. This book remains the one I recommend the most. It is clear, concise, is aligned with the experiences of my clients and myself, and, it is not weighed down with irrelevant apology for "being spritiual" or "not having physical plane, scientific proof" as are some of the spiritual books written by psychologists and psychiatrists. I bought this book in 1989 and it is absolutely still my favorite on the topic. This book is a bible on the subject and should have been a best seller! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I really enjoyed this book. It's not for everyone, but if you're curious about paganism or other concepts of spirituality, then this may interest you. Personally, I read this and had some "ah ha!" as it explained things that seemed to validate believes I already instinctually held. This book was recommended to me as a good beginning paganism book.
