There are some books that once read are put on the shelf and forgotten. "The Spirit and Presence of Christ" is not one of them! Everyday since reading "The Spirit and Presence of Christ" we think about being filled with the Holy Spirit. Also, we're daily reminded of our need to be clean before the Lord in order to be filled. After a few weeks since reading for the first time, we still find ourselves meditating on what we read. We're both on our second time through!

Employing personal testimonies, sound biblical exegesis, and moving testimonies of the work of the Holy Spirit in people's lives, Jerry White makes a powerful appeal to his readers to not be content with busy, powerless, abnormal American Christianity. Rather, readers are encouraged and instructed to be filled with the Holy Spirit, who is the presence of Jesus Christ in their lives.

I've read many books on the Holy Spirit over the years. Some were Biblical and helpful, and others weren't. We are hearing much today about the "amazing things the Holy Spirit is doing" or the "new things" the Holy Spirit is doing. Many people are getting caught up in looking for an experience or some supernatural sign from God when what they really need is a personal relationship with Christ that is based on an intimate walk with Him in the fulness of the Holy Spirit. Jerry White writes from decades of experience in seeking for, finding, and helping others find the fulness of the Spirit that the Lord promises to all (and desires for all) His children. I know that the things he writes about in this book are true -- I was there during the meetings in Japan about which he writes. I highly recommend this book to any who long for a deeper relationship with the Lord.

The Spirit and Presence of Christ is having a hugh impact on my life. It is a book I did not want to put down; and I read it from cover to cover for the first time without putting it down. I am now in the process of of reading it again, slowly and prayerfully. This is a book for every Christian who desires a deeper relationship with Christ. The personal testimonies contained in the book are creating in me a stronger hunger and thirst for Christ. I wish I had read a book like this as a new Christian, but it will bless you whether you are a new believer or you have been a believer for many years. I highly recommend this book.
