I looked around for reviews of this specific mattress, and couldn't find any, so I thought I would write one on first impressions after taking a bit of a gamble on it sans any reviews.
I shopped around for a while online and did my research on various mattresses/types/companies, and pretty much came up with the memory foam option early on. The only drawback I was concerned about was some places advising that it is harder to move around/shift position on a memory foam mattress because you sink in. I have not experienced anything like that, and actually think it is easier to move around on this mattress than my old sleep setup. I looked around online for a while, researching different brands of memory foam and came upon Spirit Sleep as an alternative to the basically-impossible-to-find-less-than-retail-Tempurpedic. This is my first "nice" mattress purchase, so I cannot really compare to too many other mattresses, and I have only had it for a few days, but I immediately slept better with this mattress vs my 10-yr old full-size Sealy PostureX mattress/boxspring with featherbed topper. This mattress just feels better all around with a more supportive and much quieter sleep experience and I did notice that I am waking up more refreshed. Now, it is brand new, so I would expect it to be better than a 10 yr. old mattress. I do especially like how much quieter this mattress is vs the coil-style when moving around. Everything just is quieter and feels more stable, which is conducive to sleeping more comfortably. I actually got an even better deal on a certain auction-related site for this mattress, and received it in about a week via freight. It comes rolled up in a big box and weighs about 200lbs. I suggest you have your foundation all ready, including any bed skirt, upon delivery and remove the box before bringing it into your bedroom (the box is likely very dirty from transport). Then the mattress is held in a thicker ripstop plastic bag and further inside a PVC clear plastic compression wrap. I removed the outer bag by cutting it along the seam with a scissors (directions to do it this way are ironically on an instruction manual that is wrapped up with the mattress, but it isn't too hard to figure out), and then hoisted the mattress on the foundation on top of the bottom of a mattress encasement and the bedskirt, and stripped off the last plastic layer after lining it up to where I thought it would unroll. You definitely need an encasement/mattress pad/both (I went with both just as a precaution with a dog) because getting any liquid on memory foam is supposed to be a big headache as the liquid will sink into the open cell foam structure if it soaks through the outer cover. It was very stiff out of the box, but after a few hours was almost perfectly flat and by bedtime had flattened out/expanded totally. I'm sure temperature of the warehouse/truck delivering it will affect how fast it expands. I also like the idea of a foundation vs the old frame/box spring-you can store much more stuff under the bed going that route. Time will tell on the long-term value/durability, but I am very happy right now.

We just replaced our 6-yr-old Simmons Worldclass Mattress with the Spirit Sleep Elegance and, so far, we love it. Assuming that it lasts, I have a feeling this will be the best mattress I've ever owned.I chose this mattress mainly because it claims to be made with fewer chemicals and petroleum products than other memory foam mattresses. It just seems like sleeping on nearly 15 inches of chemical-filled foam every night is probably a great way to get cancer. I figured that even a 20% reduction in chemicals has to be better than the alternative. I really wish that I had better known what to expect with regards to logistics. I knew the mattress would weigh about 200 lbs and arrive via freight, but I had no idea how that would differ from UPS or FedEx. Freight delivery trucks are bigger. I live in an older neighborhood in the Northeast and the truck could not fit down my street without knocking down the cable and phone lines... and likely would have also taken out a few parked cars. I had to meet the driver in a big parking lot about a mile away and he lowered the box into my SUV. So much for my plan to bribe the guy with a $50 to bring the thing upstairs. My husband, who is about 5'9'' and 140 lbs had to wrestle this beast into the house and up the stairs almost by himself as I was a virtually useless helper. He was able to strap it to a dolly and pull it up the stairs while I pushed up each stair. It can be done this way, but I really wouldn't recommend it. If you don't want to hurt yourself, plan to bribe some friends to help you. I took the advice of another reviewer and had my foundation and bed skirt all ready ahead of time. We removed the dirty outer box before bringing the mattress upstairs, then cut the remaining packaging off while it was already on top of our old foundation. Thx for the advice, Timothy!) It took about a day for the mattress to fully expand and for about 90% of the manufacturing smell to dissipate. After about 12 hours, we slept on it even though it wasn't really ready. At bedtime on the first day it was still a bit too firm, but by morning it was great. The very top is almost gel-like, but the layers underneath give really great support. I am a side sleeper and, for me, the combination of softness on top and firmness underneath is really ideal and MUCH more comfortable than my old mattress. Regarding warmth, it sleeps warmer than my old innerspring pillowtop, but I'm also one of those people who's always cold so this was actually an improvement for me. I was a little concerned that it would be hard to shift around on the memory foam, but this was not an issue at all. I just hope this Spirit Sleep foam mattress lasts longer than my Simmons innerspring pillowtop, which cost around the same as this mattress, but sagged within just a few years. At least I know this one is more comfortable.

Couldn't see 3k for a temperpedic and this seemed to touch on the better points of the knockoffs. Multiple foams and 5" of 5 lb memory foam.
Very little smell, I couldn't detect any, girlfriend some, but very minor. Seems well made and very very comfortable. I move around a lot and the isolation factor (my movement not felt by her) is very important.
