I had never heard of Bill Miller until recently attending several of his performances at a local Indian Market. I kept going back to hear and absorb more, and afterwards, ordered several cd's, including this one. I wonder how and why I could have avoided hearing of him and missing out on his fantastic music for so long. Mr. Miller is a consummate musician and his lyrics and music evoke unimaginable heartfelt emotion and imagery. He is a master of a broad range of genres, keeping his style fresh and unique. His voice, guitar, and flute are instruments of great beauty and power. His music is a treasure. I found nothing long-winded about this cd, in fact, it left me wanting to hear more.

Vanguard took up the difficult task of summarizing Bill Miller's amazing career in 16 songs and did it wonderfully. This is an excellent introduction to the career of this deeply spiritual folk-country-blues-rocking singer/songwriter/guitarist/flutist of Mohican heritage. While a long-winded description of the man and his music, it is very accurate. Whether you're looking for some sort of spiritual enlightenment or just good music, "Spirit Songs" is a must-own.

This was the first CD I purchased of Bill Miller. I was so impressed I purchased 4 of his other albums a week later. Soon I will own them all. Keep em coming cousin!

Having heard Bill Miller's song, Ghost Dance on a Putumayo collection of North American indigenous artists, I wanted to hear more. A couple of listens via youtube convinced me to buy his "Best of". This album is full of beautiful and striking songs and I've become annoying trying to promote Bill to many of my friends down here in Australia. I'm not a Christian however i admire Bill's sincerity, spirituality and ethics that come across through many of his lyrics. I am genuinely surprised that Bill Miller is not revered as more of an American treasure - there are less talented people who have earned that distinction. Listen to his music please - I'll be surprised if it does not affect you.

Spirit Songs is a beautiful collection of songs with a good blend of music genres. I've never heard Bill Miller's music before now, but I have thoroughly enjoyed this CD.

This is a broad and very interesting introduction to a very talented artist.

If you don't own any Bill Miller and would like to - I reccomend starting with the 'Best of'. The songs reflect the inspirational journey of faith, love and passion for his heritage in a fresh way.

I have loved Bill Miller's music ever since he was part of a workshop that I attended. He is a remarkable musician and his songs are poetry from his life and soul. He is simply the best.
