Editorial Reviews

Heavyweight 180gm DMM vinyl LP pressing of the band's debut album, never before available on vinyl. The songs range from speedy patchwork pieces to slower piano melodies, a somehow coherent yet very fragile brand of psychedelic music. Remastered direct from the original master and pressed on heavy weight 180g vinyl audiophile discs, this release is strictly limited and housed in a plastic wallet. Fat Cat. 2009.

/\9AP...Not long ago a young boy named Avey and his friend Panda Bear roamed the patchwork which covers the land(Some call it forest). They were looked upon by Pan and raised by fairies and the Angels of light who play deep within the Wood. "Lets make music of childhood "Avey shouted one day as the two played. Panda thought this idea was a good one. "I can use my magical Rythm sticks and you can play your Sun harp". He said. So the two began to create melodies and Panda Brought rythms from every direction while Avey Sang. All of the Songs were about wooden toys and invisible friends and filled with the light of the forest. This is the first group Songs they Played.../\9AP

copied verbatim from the inside of the record case. Cheers

I always start with "Spirit They're Gone Spirit They've Vanished" when I introduce people to Animal Collective. The liner notes say this album is the sounds of childhood, and it's hard for me to disagree. I mostly got this as a collectors item, but I've listened to it once through on vinyl and the quality is great.

A bit underwhelmed with the album artwork but I guess that isn't priority. 9.5/10 Superb album and the best and possibly the most unique of Animal Collective's discography. A must listen for any fan of Animal Collective.

This is an amazing album and I don't really need to write much about it. As for the seller and product. The vinyl came undamaged and was brand new as described.
