I too discovered Howard Lyons while listening to a native radio station, and the music is absolutely stunning. I bought the CD immediately, and usually when I buy one I expect one or two good songs maybe, but every single song on this one is good. "Well on our way" bring to life the magic of falling in love so well, and "Spirit Walk" is a haunting illustration of the journey we make into the next world. I love them all. The arrangements are beautiful with lush backing vocals and great execution. I highly recommend this one!!!!

Hauntingly beautiful music comes from this CD. Highly recommended. Rates up there among the best in Native music.

I first heard some songs from this album while listening to a Native American station on the Internet. I immediately was mesmerized and bought it as fast as I could. I find something very moving and comforting in Howard Lyon's music. I really enjoy the first song of the albumn - the Women's Honor Chant. How I wish there were audio with the track listings! This song is so uplifting, so emotionally accessible. In fact, I found all of the songs on this album to be emotionaly engaging.

I quickly found myself singing along and learning the refrain of each song. Each song is simple in structure but very compelling. All of the voices and instrumentation are beautiful and complement each other very well.

Spirit Walk is one of the finest collection of modern Native American music I have discovered to date. Howard Lyons reminds his listeners of the importance of honoring those who serve the People and of honoring our heritage. Highly recommend this recording, you will not regret it! Am looking forward to more from this artist.

by one's self, or, with a group.
The editor uses the word 'world' in his statement. What little
'world' aspects are even noticeable, if anything, only ADDS to the overall effects of this great album...

Howard Lyons has a style of his own. His chanting songs are so addictive. His songs stick in your mind hours after you've listened. You'll definitely want to pull the lyrics out of the CD case and sing along to get the chants right. The lyrics are short and simple but very addictive. He has a methodic, rhythmic way of singing. Two of my favorites on this CD is Wind Hollow and Yahne Yah Ho. His songs will have you doing a slow, rocking, swaying movement in your seat. The only thing I don't like is that Howard doesn't have more CDs like this one. I hope he produces more soon. Great for the family. Also, historic song stories.

This is one of the best cd's I have heard in a long time. No flipping through songs to find a good on this cd. Every song is a pleasure to listen to. I had to have surgery and was told that I could listen to music as I went under and also wake up. I choose this cd because Howard Lyons has a very soothing and calming voice. His music is unique and timeless and should have won a grammy.

I have put this cd in my 'most beautiful sounds' cd section!Awesome sounds!I wish Native American music was recognized by more radio stations because there are plenty of listeners that would and do appreciate this type of music.
