Editorial Reviews

Comes with digital download card. The City of Saint Augustine, Florida has the distinction of being the oldest city / port in the United States and the home of the duo Dark Castle. Dark Castle released an amazing demo entitled Flight of the Pegasus and have already played numerous shows all over the eastern half of the USA. Spirited Migration continues the metallic doom-psyche journey that Flight Of The Pegasus began. Guttural howls, towering volume, are broken-up with post-rock interludes. Exotic scales and haunting rhythms further pulls one in the atmosphere that Dark Castle creates for the listener. Recorded by Phillip Cope (Kylesa) and Mastered by Scott Hull.

Besides being blown away by the intriguing and awe inspiring album artwork, I was shocked upon listening to this album. It's much more progressive and imaginative than most other doom bands.

The guitar riffs are highly unique, and for a two piece they sound HUGE. You can hear an Adam Jones from Tool sensibility to some of the effects, but much much heavier, and darker. This album might be the biggest surprise on the Doom scene in 10 years. Neurosis meets Isis meets Yob meets Tool.

9/10

Just saw this band live, they were great. Slow, slugy doom type metal.Very heavy with some psychedelic moments.
The cd is very good. Fans of bands like rwake, zoroaster or even neurosis will like this.

They were really loud live in the small warehouse they played at. The drums were too loud, way overbearing to the guitars which from what I could hear was really brilliant. So I bought this new cd from the singer who was really cool, and I've listened to it about five times...it grows on you fast. It's mesmerizing and with doom metal in general I find a lot of vocalists killing the drone of the instruments which is not the case for DC. Even the drums sound great on the disc. Great musicians. The vocals are harsh but very appropriate and are not distracting. I would give a five star but theres a song or two that isn't as perfect as the rest. I look forward to any future release from this band. I hope they come back to JAX. Stevie, you were kind and awesome on stage. Great stuff.
