5.0 out of 5 stars Everything About Ft Bliss
If you're interested in Ft Bliss history, this is a great book. I'm one of the people mentioned in the "ghost hunts" and research, and the author got it all correct. This is a dream come true for ghost hunters in the Southwest.

In my search for information on Fort Bliss and southwestern lore, this book title came up frequently. I was pleased with the information relating to the post itself. Excellent narratives and corresponding photographs. The only negative with the book was the closing chapters regarding the Treasure of Victorio Peak on nearby White Sands Missile Range. This review is from: Spirits of the Border: The History and Mystery of Ft. Bliss, Texas (Paperback)
This book uses the information presented by the White Sands Missile Range Public Affairs Office and one other source ("100 Tons of Gold" by David Leon Chandler) very fluidly - Ok, pages 155 through 176 were copied WORD FOR WORD from the WSMR PAO office. As the WSMR PAO officer actually interviewed many of the folks mentioned in the stories, and Mr. Chandler's book has references to original source documents, this book contains NEITHER. I would expect a book that includes a story taking up over twenty pages to include some useful references, not ambiguous footnotes or stolen words from other mouths.
