Best book ever on this subject!
Having worked as a Hospice chaplain for over 12 years, I have read a lot on the subject of death and dying. This is by far the best book I have come across, not only on the subject of dying and bereaved people, but pertaining to life itself. It is a jewel and I recommend it every chance I get! Hope you will read it too!

Insightful - Penelope definately mastered companionship
I could feel Penelope's compassion for people and sensed her awareness of each person's spirit and the intensity of life and death. She drew me into achieving this same sense of compassion - accompanying those dying and bereaved on this final journey in life. For those not as in tune with people, I found her approach to those of little or no faith leaving me...

I could feel Penelope's compassion for people and sensed her awareness of each person's spirit and the intensity of life and death. She drew me into achieving this same sense of compassion - accompanying those dying and bereaved on this final journey in life. For those not as in tune with people, I found her approach to those of little or no faith leaving me occasionally doubting her christian belief's. Her final chapter left me sad, but she was able to draw me in so that I felt I spiritually understood. I believe God guided Penelope in all her work; however, I wondered if others would walk away with this same feeling.
