A Good Pump Primer for Preaching,

This is my second year using a Sunday Lectionary commnetary from John Shea. Series C was good, so I'll be working with him as I preach this year through Series A. What is good about this series is that it does some insightful, but not exhaustive, comments on the Sunday reading. Then Shea adds to his commnetary with a section he calls "Teaching." Sometimes his "teaching" goes to places where I fail to find a connection with the Bible verses. But most of the time what Shea adds something that helps "prime the pump" for my preaching. If all goes as well this year, I just may purchase Series B next Fall. Stay tuned.
