First off, the price is awesome for an out-of-print CD. AND it's imported. The CD comes in a nice folding package that resembles a cross when opened completely. The CD quality is great. And the album is amazing.

If you love Death, death metal, or rarities in the metal world; you should buy this product. I received it about 2 weeks after ordering it (due to the importing factor), and it's in great condition (obviously, it's brand new).

Buy it.

I can not emphasize enough when I say that this an underrated album. It is the first album by Death that I purchased, and it was not at all a disappointment. Chuck's voice is at its best in my opinion, and the lyrical content is quite a departure from the content of the band's previous albums, as other reviews may have noted. My favorite track is "Within the Mind." I highly recommend Spiritual Healing to anyone who is just discovering the band Death.

Spiritual Healing is Death's 3rd release, and also somewhat of a standout in it's own way. On this album, the band has almost entirely shied away from "typical" death metal topics; you will not find songs glorifying satan or senseless brutality here. This album also marks a change in the bands musical style: the songs are not as simple as their previous releases, they toy around with a few odd time signatures, and the songs themselves are a bit longer then their predecessors.
Now, if you are a fan of simple, straight-forward, satanic death metal that only seeks to offend christians, you probably won't like the albums subject material. Chuck tackles abortion, drug abuse, human cloning, and religious fraud on this album in an almost eloquent way. His choice of words is quite interesting. I will say this album had me reading and re-reading the lyrics due to their interesting nature.
The soloing is definitely what you come to expect from Chuck and his co-guitarist on this album (James Murphy), it's actually pretty fun to listen and figure out who's soloing due to their different styles (and it's pretty easy to figure out who is who).
I would give this album five stars, but the reason why I am awarding it only 4 is because this album seems to be sort of a bridge from the bands early death metal roots to their more complex, progressive material. So what you end up with is sort of a hybrid of Leprosy and Human, for the hardcore Death fan.
Bottom Line: Worth the purchase. An excellent addition to any Metalhead's catalog.
