a beautifully sculpted ritual healing disguised as a autobiographical tale, this book will take you on a journey in to your own heart and confront you with the wondrousness of life and encounters with the incredibly rich mind that populates it.

it is truly a crime that more of Jodo's works are not translated into english, and that he should ever have trouble finding money to make his films. until people understand what jodo is trying to give them, they will never understand themselves.

Great book by this great surrealist master. His first encounter with Leonora Carrington as he described it is simply amazing! surreal surreal surreal surreal surreal surreal. If you are a big fan of Jodo buy this book but read first "La Danza de la Realidad" [The Dance of Reality].

THIS BOOK ALLOWS YOU TO TAP INTO JODOROWSKY'S EXPERIENCES IN DETAIL. HIS JOURNEY IN LIFE HAS CREATED THE BRILLIANCE WITHIN HIM. WE ARE FORTUNATE THAT HE HAS SHARED HIS EXTRAORDINARY LIFE WITH THE PUBLIC, AND NOW IS YOUR TURN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS KNOWLEDGE AND GET INSPIRED TO WORK UPON YOUR OWN LIFE.

A GREAT GIFT FOR ANYONE WHO FEELS LOST OR DISCOURAGED IN LIFE. AND FOR ALL THE FILM LOVERS.

I do so enjoy these short reviews. For This book is deeply profound and speaks for itself.

If you are the kind of reader who likes really lengthy zen koan "answers" interspersed with b---jobs, h---jobs, sexual deviance, explicit organ secretions of all varieties, booming farts, and lots of other items of super low production value pawned off as the relevant elements of a spiritual memoir, this book is for you. It`s pretty easy to separate the fine from the coarse in this one.

Don't get me wrong, it's an entertaining read, in parts it is even well written, and the book has a few thoughtful passages in it. That's why I read it through to the end. Any book I can read through to the end, I give at least two stars, with one exception to date.

Hopefully, you won't mind that Jodorowsky brays his unusual production in a monster-ego-passion monotone of shamelessly boastful, free-associating. Hopefully you won't mind how Jodorowsky litters the landscape with scandalous graffiti such as an allegation that Gurdjieff was a pedophile, impregnating a thirteen year old. Give us the evidence on that if you can, will you Alejandro?

The author tells you at the outset that everything he writes in his memoir-novel is "real." If you believe even half of it, I have some land I want to sell you in Florida. Jodorowsky's method of operations in all his productions is summed up in the words of one of his lust mates. He writes: "Notoriety is everything. Only scandal brings success." We get it.

My overall impression of "The Spiritual Journey of Alejandro Jodorowsky" is summed up in my proposed alternate title, "A.J.'s Pornographic Fantasies."

There are many good spiritual memoirs out there that don't rely on shock value to boost sales. The book does serve to remind us that contact with a spiritual teacher of the kind Jodorowsky paints as his zen master does not promise it will bear fruit in the pupil.

And by the way, Alejandro, to be shown a few of your superficial deficiencies along the way doesn't equate with any kind of spiritual enlightenment or transformation. From all that you write, I would respectfully suggest you go back to square one and try again.
