About the Author

Born and raised in Chicago where she majored inart and worked as a model and illustrator for an art studio, she moved to the Los Angeles area in 1948 and continued her professional career in the sales field. This is where she met her husband Dean and raised their children.

Self-taught, Joan began her serious study of astrology in 1965 and in 1969 studied with Ruth Hale Oliver.  About this time she started to counsel and teach astrology.  She has since achieved an international reputation as a teacher and lecturer, speaking for many groups in the U.S. and Canada.  An AFAN coordinator and mamber of NCGR, her articles have been published in several national and international astrological magazines.
