Book Description

February 2000
Two easy-to-make charts show the reader how to access information mythically used by the soul in making the choices for this life. Spiritual Numerology is a unique, intuited numerological analysis developed and used by David J. Pitkin (David James) for the last 25 years in counseling those seeking the courage to live a unique and spiritual life. Most people today just exist; this book is aimed at helping individuals live life fully, in accord with the soul's purposes for this incarnation. Unique spiritual symbols illustrate the book, which draws on the wisdom of all the world's great religions. It shows the path to living a spiritual (if not necessarily religious) life.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Edgar Cayce, in his advice to thousands of people asking such questions, often commented on the possible helpfulness of such tools [numerology]. When I am asked who could be contacted for help along these lines, this is the kind of book, and the author is the kind of person that I will be happy to recommend...an enthusiastic, bright, careful stable man that has and will continue to contribute a great deal to this field. -- letter from C.T.Cayce, President, The Edgar Cayce Foundation, Virginia Beach, VA

I found David to be an authentic voice speaking an intuitively based system that really resonates with the reader...I really enjoyed using your system...it was a very illuminating experience. -- Debbie Danbrook, composer/performer, Toronto, Canada

There is nothing like it around and I enjoyed it very much indeed. Anyone interested in the Spiritual Way of Life cannot possibly be without it-and you can quote me on that! -- Hans Holzer, author/playwright, New York, NY

More About the Author

Biography for David J. Pitkin

Following a first experience with a ghost in 1968, retired teacher and author David J. Pitkin has sought understanding of the mysteries surrounding life and death. In the process, he has written 8 books, beginning with Saratoga County Ghosts in 1998. Fascinated with the unconscious mind and on evidence for consciousness surviving body death, he published his first metaphysical novel, The Highest Mountain, in 2007. He also has completed two books of New York State ghost stories, and one detailing over 200 tales in the northeast US and Canada. In the process, he has interviewed over 1,500 people, whose stories make up his fascinating rendition of ghost stories. "My motto is: enlighten, don't frighten," he states. He recently completed and published New England Ghosts.

Conducting investigations for thirty-five years at many reputedly haunted sites in New York State, the New England states and Canada, he has become a philosopher lecturing on death and its aftermath. A resident of Chestertown, NY, Pitkin lectures widely on parapsychology and metaphysical themes, including ghost stories.

He studied dream analysis with Dr. Montague Ullman and facilitated a dream study group for eleven years. Pitkin believes many dreams of the departed are genuine ghost or spirit contacts. He holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Social Studies Education from S.U.N.Y., Albany, and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Goddard College, Plainfield, VT. He is also a professional numerologist.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, February 15, 2000
This review is from: Spiritual Numerology: Caring for Number One (Paperback)
In the last five hours I have DEVOURED the whole book. It is lucid, synthetic in the best sense of that word, humane and inspiring. It's moving and instructive. I really like the quotations from major religions. I am so grateful on behalf of everyone the book reaches that you have done this work and communicated it so manageably.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Practical Down-to-Earth Book on using Numerology, May 6, 2000
By
"skear" (Upstate New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Spiritual Numerology: Caring for Number One (Paperback)
This is a most unusual book in that (1)it's a great read the first time through, (2)is a "must have" reference manual for the subject and (3)is very down-to-earth and practical. In essence, this is a very well written manual on how to use numerology in identifying your strengths and weaknesses, as well as the cycles in your life. This is the "owner's manual" we should have gotten at birth! Thanks for providing something on numerology that's sensible and useful for everyone!

Not only is this easy-to-read guide ideal for helping one determine their mission in life, but it can also help you find hope in even the worst of times. Our pain has a purpose. This book can help you determine what that purpose is.
