Excellent insights!,

It is amazing how brightly this deceased author's light is still shining! In my opinion, Mr. Stedman was truly blessed with an understanding of God's Word, but more - he had a gift of being able to write and share this knowledge with others.

Wonderful Understanding,
This review is from: Spiritual Warfare: How to Stand Firm in the Faith (Paperback)
Ray has brought a very practical, "balance" understanding of what spiritual warfare is all about. A very easy book to not only read but to understand. I recommend this book to every Christian whether young in their faith or a mature believer.

All I can say is THANK YOU to Ray Stedman and those that have helped edit and put his teachings into book form. Ray Stedman was used mightily by the Lord in order to accurately teach the Word.
This is an awesome study...one of the best by Ray Stedman along with Body Life...highly recommended for all true believers in Jesus Christ to read.

I happened upon the 1975 version of this book and I wholeheartedly agree with the previous reviewers, that Mr. Stedman possess a God-given finesse in imparting the Word of God to the seeking Christian. This book is about the Armour of God and what that means. I've read other books about the Armour of God but none has made this concept so clear, practical and employable as Mr. Stedman's. You will be blessed by reading this book.

This book is fine, just not my favorite. The information is wonderful of course, but I guess it just wasn't my style of writing. But again, the messages are great.

Paranoid, theologically unsound, and leads to violence,

This book helped start the trend of Evangelicals who think anyone who isn't them is infested with demons, which provides an excuse for being anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic. This line of thinking has led directly to "Satanic panics" in which innocent people were jailed in this country. It has also led to witch hunts in Africa where adults accused of witchcraft are run out of their homes and children are disowned and abused by their parents [...]. More recently there have been abuse cases in this country similar to the ones in Africa, in which parents deluded by their pastors into believing their children are demon-possessed commit child abuse in the name of exorcism. This book and the whole "Spiritual Warfare" movement encourages people to believe that they are "warriors" on the side of God against imaginary evil, and therefore anything they do is justifiable. It also leads people to blame anything that goes wrong in their life on demonic forces, which in Christian terms is a form of idolatry. The book also claims that "occult groups" including Wicca have committed ritual murder, a claim that is refuted by the FBI but is often repeated in SW circles.
