Book Description

July 18, 2003
Grow them in God's image! Seventy-five percent of a child's character is developed by the time he is five years old-which means that parents of preschoolers have a big responsibility (and a lot of fun!) ahead of them. A warm and delightful book, written in parent-to-parent style with splashes of "close to home" humor, Spiritually Parenting Your Preschooler helps parents to:
  • Teach your infant, toddler or preschooler to encounter God in a real way
  • Win the two-year-old "no-no war" without emotional scars
  • Build Christ esteem in your adopted child
  • Raise your child alone
  • Experience spontaneous praise and worship with your toddler
  • Select the school that is right for your child and holds fast to your values
  • Discover exciting tools to help your child model God's life and words
  • Hear your child pray, expecting answers...and then see the miracles!

In addition to the humor, sensitivity and helpful information found in these pages, your entire family will be blessed with these practical and godly guidelines for parenting. Well...you need to read this book from cover to cover! Right? You've heard all the practical parenting advice-now here's the wisdom that you need to spiritually parent your preschooler.

More About the Author

For an author, there is nothing "sweeter" than someone who excitedly exclaims (loud enough for everyone within 100 yards to hear), "Hey I read your book! Couldn't put it down! Do you have anymore?" It makes all those hours interviewing people and tapping at the keyboard worth it.

So, I hope you'll find the Amazon book reviews within 100 yards from where you are right now. Yes, more books are on the way, but I'll tell you about those later.

Please note that the first two novels (Daughter of China and Across the China Sky) are on their way into print and E-book publication by History Maker Publishing and will be available soon. (I'll keep you updated.) I hope you'll take the time to look inside my latest book. Look at the graphic pictures drawn by a child who escaped North Korea. His words, his pictures, his story. History. History Maker Publishing. Look for the RSS feed on this page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource, February 19, 2004

This review is from: Spiritually Parenting Your Preschooler: Start your children on the right path to know God (Paperback)
I am a mother of three children 6, 4 and 3. I was so excited to find a book focusing on young children. This book is packed full of creative ideas, insights and fun stories. The author opens up her life and the life of her family to give real solutions and examples. She covers a wide range of topics such as sibling rivalry, self esteem, discipline, schooling, prayer and praise journals. I have implemented many ideas already. I meet with preschoolers and their moms once a week to focus on prayer and worship. We are learniong to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Hope Flinchbaugh gave me some great insight to teaching this truth and getting it deep into our hearts. We are encouarging the children to be yeiled to the Holy Spirit. It is exciting being part of what God is doing in these children. My greatest desire is to see my children grow in Jesus and be complete in Him. This book is a must read for anyone who has the privilege in sowing into the lives of young children.....or for those planning to have children. A great resource. Thanks, Hope!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't wait until they're all grown up!, August 7, 2003

This review is from: Spiritually Parenting Your Preschooler: Start your children on the right path to know God (Paperback)
What an incredible resource this book has proven to be! As a professor of Christian education at a Christian University in Orlando, I not only found this material extremely beneficial for future pre-school teachers but also for parents and grandparents. This book is loaded with helpful suggestions that will stir up those creative juices to take your teaching and parenting over the top. If you are looking for a book that will help you select the right school for your children, instruct you about how to teach character and godly living, realize the value of spontaneous praise and worship and learn how to survive as a single parent, this will bring you some incredible answers. I particularly liked the flow of the book as well as the genuine compassion when dealing with rather delicate issues like teaching about prayer and building Christ esteem. The author's sense of humor and realness makes this book a keeper!
