Just what I wanted! Can't say that very often...A solid precise history of the Spit from the prototype to the last postwar marks.Nice decriptions of each mark that are detailed enough to answer 90% of any questions,and superb color profiles.I was searching for just this sort of reference and this title fills the need admirably for a great price. There are good books available for those who want extreme detail and/or history of operations,but they will require more $$ and will only build on this excellent foundation volume.
