5.0 out of 5 stars So Awesome
This game is so vintage and so much man that I'm guessing a lot of people won't even be able to handle it. The graphics don't compare much to the arcade version, but are considerably better than TG16's. The game itself is not much of a beat 'em up like the 3rd, which is the most fun in the series hands down. The gameplay is much more comparable to the first. The last...

1.0 out of 5 stars This sucks.
Cool monsters, great concept and just a horrible, piece of garbage game. The controls, game play, and difficulty due to the crappy controls and bad game play make this game unplayable.

The graphics don't compare much to the arcade version, but are considerably better than TG16's. The game itself is not much of a beat 'em up like the 3rd, which is the most fun in the series hands down. The gameplay is much more comparable to the first. The last boss cheats so bad that you probably won't kill him without an emulator, but it can be done.

You play as Rick. In the game, you pulverize and pound mutant horrors into piles of gore with a variety of weapons that all have that home-utility feel to them. Splatter enemies onto walls with clubs and punch heads until they explode! This game is killer every way you look at it.

All in all, for vintage gaming fans, this is an awesome trophy to have in your SEGA collection. If you liked the idea of this game + Double Dragon, check out the 3rd Splatterhouse, as its the most brutally fun of the series.

You walk, You jump, you splatter blood & guts on the walls. That's about all there is to the game play, in some spots the enemies come at you pretty fast and some of the bosses are very hard to defeat; I definitively would have purchased this game when I was 14 and into games with heavy blood & gore. The Game is simpler and more gorey than most games today!
The game play is about the same as the original Slpatterhouse on the TurboGrafx, Slpatterhouse 2 on the Sega Genesis has slightly improved graphics. I don't recommend Slpatterhouse 3.

Splatterhouse 2 is undoubtedly one of the best beat em ups for the Sega Genesis. With a classic story line and a scary soundtrack this game holds up through generations of gamers. Yes this game sells for around $35, it is well worth it with gory kills and a high replay value. This game comes in second for me on my all time favorite list, and is a pretty difficult game for its time but makes up for that with its password system. I suggest this for anyone who wants a spooky game with good graphics and a time tested plotline. Save Jennifer before its too late!

This review is actually for the original arcade version of the first splatter house. The game is really difficult with out cheats. The bosses in stages 4 to 8 took at total 113 blows more or less to beat. This game should be fine for those that want a challange but expect it to take a while to master unless you put on infinite continues or infite health and lives. I highly this recommend for splatter house 2 and 3 as well. The world record for the mane version of the orginal is all seven stage in about 23 minutes with infinte health and lives on. Those of you that do master this fairly I admire your dedication to this difficult game. This game should be fine for 13 up due to mild gor and disturbing images. But don't take my world plays this game you will have a fun time. This game I recommend for any fans of resident evil or similar series. Now go forward and save your girl friend and may the undead trembled before your fists of furry.
