Dr. George Parker Holden was a luminary of the American angling world in the early twentieth century, who wrote the angling manual "Streamcraft" in 1919 and numerous articles for the Angler's Club of New York Bulletin. His milestone book from 1920, "The Idyl of the Split-Bamboo," is credited with starting the home rodbuilding movement.
