This doc only whetted my appetite to learn more about the life of Chrysis. It teased me and then did not get the job done! What a loss. Maybe someone else will make a decent documentary about Chrysis.

Many of the statements made in this film were incorrect. The statements about her sex life were way off, and it is sad when people pretend to know something so they can hear themselves speak. I know what she liked because I was her lover, but her sex life - whether she was aggressive or not, top,bottom, loved her dck or not etc. is not something that should have been a topic anyway. Secondly, to portray Chrysis as some mythlogical half man half woman was not who Chrysis was. She saw herelf as a gay man, and I know that because she told me so late one night in bed with tears running from her face. She suffered with her early decision to transform many times and had said she should have just been a gay man. She learned to live with it. But in the 80's she wore her hair very short and dressed androgynis except when she was going "in drag" as she referred to it. Chrysis and I shared vey tender moments together, and what the film did capture correctly was that she was a warm and loving spirit. As far as the film itself goes, it looked more like a student film. its O.K., but I only enjoyed seeing Chrysis again.

The Chrysis I knew bore little resemblance to the Chrysis of this film. Ellen Fisher Turk seems to have had a thesis, and plugged Chrysis into it, tossing truth to the wind. Full of inaccuracies and interviews with many who, despite their repeated statements to the contrary, were not part of her circle of friends. And based on the comments they make, it is obvious to anyone that knew Chrysis that she would not appreciate the crass remarks of some (you know who you are mister jewelry designer). Lies, half-truths and a script that clearly just needed a queen to fill the suit. But because anything with Chrysis is worth owning and cherishing, just to see her and listen to her, I grudgingly recommend that you buy this video. Or better yet, find a bootleg copy so you get the video and Fisher Turk makes not a cent.

This was a very interesting portrait of a drag legend. It was sad at times but very informative. Highly reommend for those curious about the TV, TS,CD, Drag dynamic

Watched it last night. I think it's one of those mockumentaries. Still very good.
