The splitter will not insert all the way into the receiver so you only get mono sound out of the headphones.

This stereo splitter is very cheaply made. The inserts are loose and with just a slight touch or movement it will loose connection with the internal tab connections and go from stereo to mono or to nothing at all. I would not recommend this splitter to any one. Even a Radio shack splitter is built more solid than this one. It's not about price, it's about quality. I have purchased thousands of dollars with Amazon and have always been satisfied. They should stop selling this product. Mine lives in the trash dump. I would have rated it negative stars if this site would have allowed.
