They are gorgeous glasses-- IF they arrive in one piece. I placed an order for 3 sets-- got them and 7 out of 12 were broke. Then when I got the replacements, several of them were broken. And when I got some from another order, they were broken as well. They were all packed poorly. The glasses were in their boxes and thrown into a bigger box (that was too big) and bubble wrap thrown on top. Learn how to pack people! Amazon has been great about refunding my money-- but it has still been a headache.

The original Spode- which I have some- were made in England and are of fine quality. The latest Spode is made in China and is not nearly as good. While it claims to be dishwasher safe- it is not- at least the glasses and goblets. The design washes off after one or two times in the dishwasher. I still use them but I hand wash. Just be aware of the difference as you will be expecting the really good Spode (from England) and it is not!

I have collected Spode Christmas Tree items for more than 30 years. I had 8 Pedestal Goblets and felt I needed 4 more to complete my set. When I received the final 4 the quality of the glasses had declined greatly. You can immediately tell the difference between the glasses I have had for several years and the new goblets. The new ones are much lighter and the decals can be scratched easily. I have to be very very careful that they are not damaged. I am very disappointed!

I have to agree with the previous review:
Nice glasses but 4 out of 8 were broken when they arrived. Same thing, 2 boxes in a bigger box with inadequate protection. Amazon.com is a great place to shop. Amazon.com packaging is a bad bad place to shop.
Saved shipping by using the super saver, now that 4 pcs are broken that went out the window, since I have to pay shipping now for a replacement. Oh wait, no longer available, it's just getting better.
Waiting on refund from Amazon.

These glasses are very nice and exactly as described. I received them within a few days - but one of them was broken. There was very little packing material in the inner box, especially around the stem. Arranging for a replacement was quick and easy - you just print a packing slip and label. I received a replacement set - a bit of a waste, why not receive just the one glass? - in a couple of days. But - one of those glasses was broken, in exactly the same spot. Someone obviously needs a lesson in packing.

I ordered these as a gift for a relative. This was a good value for this item. But, when they arrived, one of the goblets was smashed. This was due to the person who packed these.The box had no warning of care, and no extra packing.I have ordered these before, with no problem.To Amazon's credit,there was no problem in sending them back.But, I am still waiting for credit on my credit card.

The goblets were a gift. I know she likes them. I enjoyed the ease of the purchase on the internet. I don't buy very much on the internet but this was a great experience. I thought the price was excellent.

I was a little surprised with the packaging, but all the glasses were in perfect condition, just in time for Christmas! Thank you so much!
