The plate features rounded, indented corners that contrast with the bold angular Star of David in the center. Stylized flowers and vines influenced by designs from historic Judaic manuscripts and ceramic tiles beautifully fill the plate in various shades of blue on a soft ivory background. In the center of the star is written the Hebrew phrase, Mazel Tov, or congratulations. The piece helps to celebrate and commemorate life's many happy events. The Hebrew translation is Good Luck. The design on the Spode Judaica Mazel Tov Plate is based on historic Judaic manuscripts from the 1880's, influenced by early ceramic tile motifs, and features the traditional Judaic colors of blue and white. The dominant motif consists of stylized flowers and vines, interwoven amongst the straight-edged Star of David.

Although the plate arrived in immaculate condition, the Spode box was not. The blue plate box was ripped and bent and I was embarrassed to present it as a gift to my friend.
