Highly recommended especially for households with little ones learning to play videogames. My 6 1/2 year old son loves Spongebob but not as much as he used to, but we got this game this weekend and he loves it. The game is funny, interesting, and challenging. I'm 32 and really enjoy it as well. You play as Spongebob, Patrick, or Sandy (haven't gotten to Sandy yet!) and each character has particular moves and strengths. Your "lives" are square underpants. There are all sorts of puzzles and challenges to solve, and plenty of action. If you like hearing yourself or your kids laugh, then this game is for you!

I can't believe someone said this game was boring and had bad graphics. I think they are confusing it with another sponge bob game. the very 1st spongebob game for playstation (back in 2001) did have really bad graphics and was very simple, my 5 yr old could complete the game, and I was able to finish the whole game in One night.
But the new one 'Battle for Bikini Bottom' is Nothing like the 1st one, the graphic look like your watching the actual spongebob cartoon in 3-D. And you never get bored with this game each stage has so much to do!!! Like smashing enough tikki's, trading flowers with Mr. Krab's for a golden spatula, climbing hard to reach places to find extra underwear, fitting robots, bowling, bubble smashing, jellyfishing, bungee jumping and more. Best of all you really feel like your in bikini bottom!! My son thought smashing up squirdward's house and hearing squidward tell spongebob to get out, was a hoot. I was Never bored with this game, I really hated having to turn it off to go to bed because it was so much fun play and it took me 2 months to complete the whole game because there is so much to do. If you like the cartoon you'll love the game

I'm a fan of Spongebob Squarepants therefore it's not surprising that I bought the game immediately after it was released. I am delighted at how brilliant this game is and it has fullfilled all my expectations and more. I do not agree with those who claimed that this game was too easy, it was simple enough for kids to grasp the moves immediately and have fun simultaneously but it can take quite some time if you're aiming at getting all the 'Golden Spatulas' and Patrick's socks which are scattered throughout a very wide area and often in very obscure places. That's where lateral thinking kicks in and you are most likely to find them in the least expected places and corners. It can be frustrating at first but immensely rewarding once you found them. The Spongebob 'humour'is still evident in the game, for me playing the game is like watching one of Spongebob's episodes, the only difference is that you are in it. Highly recommended.

When I see all the bad or OK reviews for this game, I think "these people don't know how to have a good time!" if they give it a review like they did, they probably didnt even play it. the game's like this: there are ten big worlds to play in: bikini bottom, jellyfish fields, downtown bikini bottom, goo lagoon, rock bottom, the mermelair, sand mountain, kelp forest, the flying dutchmans graveyard, and spongebobs dream. there are also two mini-worlds where theres only one task to do: defeat a giant robot! and theres the chum bucket lab, too. there are also some secretworlds. in each world there are missions to be done for " distressed citicens," who will give you golden spatulas for completing their tasks. the more golden spatulas you get, the more worlds you can unlock. you can also trade ten socks with patrick for a golden spatula, or shiny objects with mister krabs. you start with three pairs of underwear. once you lose em' all, you gotta start at the last checkpoint you got to. you can get golden underwears to increase the number of underwears you can wear at a time. you can play as three characters: sbongebob, patrick, and sandy. spongebob is in every world. all the cut scenes are hilarious, so watch em'. This game is easy to understand, but it takes a while to beat (hey, the longer it takes, the longer you'll be having fun!). Ive been playin for over a week for about 90 minutes a day, and Im only 50% done!all in all, this is a very fun game for people of all ages. spongebob fans especially.

I love love love Spongebob Squarepants! I was at Toys R Us this summer when my parents got an inflatable baby playground pool for my 2 year old sister. I was looking at video games for my playstation 2. As I was really looking for a Mary-kate & Ashley game I came across this one. I decieded it looked neat. I used my saved money to buy this! When I got home I read the game strategy guide . Then I played the game. It is veryeasy to catch on to!(...) The plot is rather .... funny! The idea is that Plankton has made all kinds of differernt robots to get the Krabby Patty secret formula. But this plan backfires. The Robots have taken over Bikini Bottom and there are a bunch of them. Spongebob has to perform tasks for friends to get a golden spatuala, break the Robots AND the Robot making machine, find out where the Robots are coming from and destroy them once & for all, and SAVE BIKINI BOTTOM BEFORE ITS TO LATE!!!! This is very fun!(...)

This game is very fun! You get to smash tikis, and break computers. You also meet robots. It's not very educational, but it doesn't break. My little brother (he's 6) plays for hours and hours. The game is a five-star game!

This game may not have great reviews, but its may favorite Playstation 2 game out of all my games!I got it for Christmas and im sooo glad I did! In this game SpongeBob is out to save Bikini Bottom from robots that have taken over!In this SpongeBob can talk to all his friends. His friends will ask him to do tasks for them. When SpongeBob is finished with those tasks he will receive a golden spatula, which SpongeBob can get by performing tasks, trading shiny objects with Mr Krabs, or getting to places where they are hidden. Use the golden spatulas to get into certain places - for instance, to get into downtown Bikini Bottom SpongeBob needs 5 golden spatulas.Although to get into Jelly fish fields there is no required amoount of golden spatulas. Shiny objects can unlock a few places and are used to trade with Mr. Krabs for a golden spatula. Characters you can play: 1. SpongeBob 2. Patrick 3. Sandy Each Character has their own abilities and talents so you will know when you need them. Items: 1. golden spatula 2. shiny objects 3. underwear 4. Spongeball 5. throw fruit 6. Texas trailer hitches 7. wood tiki 8. floating tiki 9. shh tiki 10. thunder tiki 11.stone tiki 12. shiny object collecter 13. Taxi stands ( to go to another place) 14. Bus stop ( to switch characters) 15. socks 16. information signs. Levels:

This game has bad graphics but come on it's a Nickoloden cartoon video game! Anyway, the graphics don't totally mess up the game because it is a ton of fun. I play it mostly for laughs and to tell you the truth, some tasks you have to do are very challenging. You get to go to a lot of places that are in certain eposides. For example, you get to go to Rock Bottom and when you go to the vending machine a bus drives by. Also, when you go to Sand Mountain you slide on your tounge just like in the cartoon. This game is fun for all ages and it is very funny.

I'm 36 yrs old, have a 10 year old daughter and we really enjoy playing this game together. It's funny, challeging, has great graphics and many hidden secrets. The game is so sleek, it's like you're playing the cartoon. The voices, unlike so many other games using bad impersonators, actually sounds identical to the original character voices (it may actually have the original voices). There is very little violence and the violence is directed at robots (thanks to that pesky Plankton), so parents need not worry. One of the big bonuses of this game is, you never die. You just keep coming back to your last check point.Spongebob's humor spans many generation gaps and this game is no different. You get to play as Patrick and Sandy, so there are a couple of different moves and abilities. You have to see Patrick's "belly flop" to believe it. There's also a lot of interaction between other character's: Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and even Gary who provide additional challenges. Be warned, however, this game can be difficult for beginners or small children. My daughter gets frustrated on some of the more difficult challenges and I have to step up to finish some parts for her (or maybe I'm just hogging the controller)...

My 6 year old son loves sponge bob, and he absolutely loves this game. It is much better than the first one, they put more effort into it. It is challenging, and as a strong playstation player, he needs a lot to keep him entertained. We rented it first, and he loved it so much it is number one on his christmas list.
