5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a Surprise
I thought this game was going to be bad at first because of the stylus control, but it ended up being very fun. Not as good as the last game, The Yellow Avenger, but it's still a great game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
I bought this game for my 6 yr old boy and we both were very dissapointed. He was frustrated and stuck within a few minutes. As other reviews mentioned, you have to use the stylus for this game and the characters do not always move where you wanted them to go so you end up losing a life. You also only get 2 lives to start and when you die you have to start over and some...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Game, January 2, 2007

Spongebob Squarepants Creature from the Krusty Krab game for Nintendo DS is a very good game for beginners. Easy for my toddler to navigate through the screens. Moving Spongebob with the stylus is easier than trying to navigate the buttons in the DS. I recommend this game for beginners that are not familiar with game systems or for the very young.

As other reviews mentioned, you have to use the stylus for this game and the characters do not always move where you wanted them to go so you end up losing a life. This game was really hard to play because you have to use the stylus to move Spongebob around. He doesn't always go where you tell him to go, and he keeps falling off things. It might be more fun on another game system, or if you could use the arrow pad.
If you do get the game, level 2 is really hard but once you get past that it's easier.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't what I expected, June 6, 2011
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants: The Creature from the Krusty Krab for Nintendo DS (Video Game)
It's a good game for beginners but it wasn't what I expected. I thought that it would be similar to the ones like on Ps2, ps3 and Xbox but it was totally different. First, it was 2d, next, the stories were different from the one on the ps2 and lastly u have to keep using the pen. It didn't control my characters well. It's a good game for people who's just starting out and using the system for the first time.

This is a standard side scroll 2D play game. You play as Spongebob, Patrick and Plankton and move through different levels jumping over objects and collecting coins (sleepy seeds). The storey is OK the graphics are OK but neither are exceptional. This would be a simple game except the game controls are so frustrating. All the character movements are done with the stylus?! You swipe left to go left, swipe right to go right, swipe up to jump etc. There is no option to use the D-Pad to control your character. I am sure Nintendo loves to produce games like this so you will wear out the touch screen sooner and have to buy another DS. There are some cute video clips between levels of the game. I also enjoyed playing as Plankton. This is the only game I have had where you can play as Plankton.

I purchased this game for my 9 year old son for Christmas 2009. He said this game was not as exciting as he had hoped. He said you do not need to use a DS pen to navigate to play the game. You can use the arrow buttons.

My seven year old grandson just got his DS for Christmas, so he is just learning the world of video games. He loved this Spongebob game, and caught on pretty quick, even though it required reading some words he hadn't learned yet.

I really don't want to feel like I wasted money on this game for my 5 year old son. We are stuck. Please can someone tell me how to get past the Diesel Parts section (yes, its right at the beginning and i am embarrassed)? I keep getting stuck on the part where Sponge flips a switch to floor where there are wrenches. Than he passes his pineapple house and you see the steam comming out of the floor with a bridge on the other side that has to be lowered. It looks like you have to turn the dial thats up on another level you can bounce to. But it is greyed out. Theres also a suit you can get from the garbage can next to his house, but you just blow up into a ball. What am I suppose to do here? Please I've tried looking everywhere for a solution, anyone help out?
