5.0 out of 5 stars more great adventures from our favorite sponge
The episodes on Lost at Sea aren't a great as those on Nautical Nonsense, but this is still a great group of shows. There is the 'lost episode' "The Sponge Who Could Fly" which spoofs the musical cartoons Disney and others have put out, but it was a weak episode (including live action from Patchy the Pirate). 5.0 out of 5 stars more great adventures from our favorite sponge, April 24, 2003
This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants - Lost At Sea (DVD)
The episodes on Lost at Sea aren't a great as those on Nautical Nonsense, but this is still a great group of shows. There is the 'lost episode' "The Sponge Who Could Fly" which spoofs the musical cartoons Disney and others have put out, but it was a weak episode (including live action from Patchy the Pirate). This episode also has commentary. The best episodes were: "Boating School" - where SpongeBob, with Patrick's help, cheats on his boating exam; "Suds" - SpongeBob gets sick, Patrick plays doctor;and "Youre Shoe's Untied" - featuring a great Gary ending. Also on this dvd there is "Prehibernation Week", "Plankton", "Bubble Buddy", "Chaperone" and there is "Mermaidman and Barnacleboy II". Unlike Nautical Nonsense, this dvd doesn't contain much in the way of extras. There's SpongeBob's 7 life strategies (a cute commercial for the cartoon) and the story board for "The Sponge Who Could Fly". This dvd also has previews for several of the Nickelodeon cartoon.

4.0 out of 5 stars More Spongebob!!!, February 27, 2003

This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants - Lost At Sea (DVD)
The episode "Bubble Buddy" makes this DVD worth owning alone. But all the episodes on this DVD will make you laugh. And it's worth owning because everytime you watch a Spongebob episode, you catch some witty thing you never realized before.

The only drawback is not enough special features. This disc has more than the last 2 DVDs released, but I would like to see more "behind the scenes" Watching Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, and Rodger Bumpass perform the voices on the Nautical Nonsense DVD was so cool. I would like there to be more of that. I realize that they probably didn't videotape them doing every episode, but I hope they do with any new episodes they make.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arrrrr you ready kids?, June 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants - Lost At Sea (DVD)
This show rules, this is one of the few things that turned out just right. This show could have easily been semi-funny with cornball lessons that teach children morals and blah blah, but instead the show sets itself up like its going to do that and just becomes incredibly goofy. Like when Ween start playing a song about learning to tie your shoes, it goes nowhere and is just funny! The voices are hilarious, the way everything is so overdone is hilarious, the fact the show aims for nothing but entertainment reaching its full potential instead of crippling itself with been-done-a-million-times "hip" (yawn) satire or something that would teach children some stupid stuff when they should be out doing drugs is why I love it so much.

Buy all these DVDs, this is something YOU NEED.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Backstage Pants!, April 1, 2003

This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants - Lost At Sea (DVD)
I agree with Matthew (review above). One of the best things about the first SpongeBob DVD was getting to see the voice actors on the "Backstage Pants" special feature. The special features on the subsequent DVD just aren't that great. That said, i recommend this DVD anyway for the laugh-a-minute potential of every episode. My personal favorite is the one where SpongeBob cheats while trying to pass his driving test. Love how Mrs. Puff, puffs up everytime SpongeBob smashes into anything, and she has to be taken to the hospital. A real hoot!

5.0 out of 5 stars Look for the map for the lost epsode!!!, April 30, 2011
A Kid's Review
This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants - Lost At Sea (DVD)
I got this at kmart for 5 dollars today. Has some fun epsodes and some are my favorite.

The sponge who could fly "lost eposde" : Patchy the pirate {one of the best patchy epsodes} find the lost eposde of spongebob. Spongebob trys to fly with the jellyfish, but he can't. "Or can he...

Planton!: This is the first Planton epsode. Spongebob first finds planton by him trying to get the krabby patty formala. After he fails, he puts a controller into spongebob's brain and forces him to get a crabby patty!

Boating school: the first epsode with Mrs. Puff. Spongebob failed 37. {meow} 38 times and knows he gonna fail again. {doh!} So patrick gives him all the answers by putting a walkey talkey in his brain!!! Spongebob thinks it's OK untill he finds out he's CHEATING!!!!!!!

Suds: Spongebob gets the suds so he calls sandy for a doctor. But as a best friend, Patrick doesn't want spongebob to go cause you have to wait in the waiting room and read old mags!!!!

Mermaidman and barnacle boy II: Spongebob wins the conch signai from the tv series "Mermaid man and barnicle boy" and uses it all the time for silly things. HE DOESN'T NEED HELP THOUGH!!! INSTED, MERMAID MAN AND BARNICLE BOY HAS TO HELP SPONGEBOB OPEN UP A JAR OF MAYONNAISE!!!

The chaperone: Peral's "exboyfriend" stood up and broke up with her. Peral cries all the way to the crusty krab about it. So spongebob has to be his new boyfriend. {Uh oo...}

Bubble buddy: Without Patrick and Sandy, Poor Spongebob is lonely. So he makes a friend out of a bubble. But, is that good for him, but bad for the others? "You and that bubble has been nothing but trouble!" Mr. Krabs saied.

Your Shoe's Untied: Lets make this short. OK. Patrick gets shoes. Spongebob tryes to teach him how to tie them. He forgets. Will someone teach him? {Meow}

PreHibernation week: {Including some rock band?} Sandy has "Hibernation" next week {cause she's a squirrel! Cause there stupied! Cause... Wait, that's from another epsode. } and she tryes to make it like there's no tomorrow!!! Will Spongebob survie?

Done {thank goodness.} Special faeatures include the audio comtary, and the storyborads of "the sponge who could fly" and Spongebob's 7 Life Strategies, a short about spongebob's life and what he does. {I think.}

To END!!!

This is a great dvd, I was glad to get it, has epsodes form the first {mostly}, sceond, and one epsode from the third season. Also from Videos "The sponge who could fly" and "anchors away." I mostly got this for "the sponge who could fly" {there having a musical of that now I think} cause I don't see this epsode on tv often. Well, it's 10:00 in the night. I better leave. Good night, and buy this dvd.

5.0 out of 5 stars HILARIOUS!!!!!!, August 7, 2003
This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants - Lost At Sea (DVD)
This DVD is absolutely hilarious. I loved it. I am not a young child but it is still incredibly funny. I've never understood why this cartoon is based called a childrens cartoon. Most of the adults or older viewers I know think the show is even funnier than the kids do. More than half of the humor on here adults can easily relate to and kids cannot. Another thing I've never understood is how a cartoon about a talking sponge and his undersea friends could be so funny. Its beyond me how stupid the concept is but how funny the show is. This DVD, Lost at Sea, is the best DVD my family owns ( my younger brother has three others ). From top to bottom the episodes on this one are hilarious. Not one of them ever gets boring. The Sponge Who Could Fly is a classic double episode. Plankton is another uproarious episode. The talking sponge is by far the best character in the show. Patrick the Starfish is also hilarious but theres just something about Spongebob that is incredibly funny. But dont take my word for it, watch Nickelodeon and watch this cartoon

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended!, May 1, 2003
This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants - Lost At Sea (DVD)
This wonderful DVD contains nine(!) great SpongeBob SquarePants episodes. The first one is the double length "Lost Episode", The Sponge Who Could Fly, which is also a great musical! The other eight are Plankton, Boating School, Suds, Mermaidman and Barnacleboy II (a personal favorite), The Chaperone, Bubble Buddy, Your Shoe's Untied, and PreHibernation Week. Plus, as if that weren't enough, the extras on this DVD include commentaries, storyboards, and SpongeBob's seven life strategies.

I bought this DVD for my son (that's my excuse, and I am sticking to it!), and he loves it. We've already watched it through twice, and it is bound to be a star item in our collection. We both highly recommend this DVD to you!
