2.0 out of 5 stars Same thing over and over! January 3, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
After having the other Spongebob games for Xbox 360 and Playstation 2, my kids and I were excited to see a new one come out. I got it for them for Christmas and was disappointed within 20 minutes of playing it. It is the same thing over and over. You shoot the robots, cash in your money to upgrade your weapon and do it all over again. Same scenery, same monsters, same everything. Every few levels you have to kill the big robot Plankton, then its like the whole thing starts over again. I think in today's day and age, the game could have been so much more creative instead of repeating everything over and over agan. Big disappointment!

3.0 out of 5 stars It's Great, But Lacks Variety October 27, 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
SpongeBob: Plankton's Robotic Revenge is the first co-op game in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. The game itself lacks originality, as it rips off Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One by having the same upgrade system (using sprockets instead of bolts), the same gun effect when two or more players shoot one target at once, and having the free fall section in levels. People say this rips off Battle for Bikini Bottom, but they're wrong because this game is nothing like Battle for Bikini Bottom at all, as it has different character models, guns, and obviously, it's a co-op game. I wouldn't at all consider this a sequel to Battle for Bikini Bottom. Though originality doesn't determine whether a game is fun or not. The gameplay itself IS enjoyable, but since there are only 15 levels and all of the boss fights are the exact same, the game feels the same throughout. Did I mention the melee attacks are so bland and useless? The game is too easy. There is no difficulty selection and you have infinite ammo. This list price is $29.99 for a reason. The game has no online (which is ridiculous because this is an Activision co-op game on current gen consoles). No, this game does not look like a PS2 game, and the graphics are decent, but the environments have the best animated look. Graphics are not a reason to insult this game. The fact that Activision published this doesn't mean much, only that Behaviour Interactive (the developers of this game) were rushed and most likely were required to add guns to appeal to a younger audience (sad). This game was made by the developers of Ed Edd N Eddy: The Mis-Edventures, so I wonder why this game didn't turn out as well as I expected. The trophies and achievements are easy, but require you to put time into the game and have four controllers. The game can be fun with friends or alone, but just be aware it's only good for the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for us January 20, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
My daughter does enjoy this game but she will not play it very long because it is very repetitive. You advances through stages and as you go you fight hordes of robots. Once you complete one battle you walk a little ways down just to engage in a very similar looking battle. It can get predictable and boring. She likes to play it but she usually will only play it for about half an hour before becoming annoyed. I can only last half that time before I'm tired of it.

2.0 out of 5 stars way too short January 13, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
my 6 year old finished it in 2 days of playing. maybe a total of 4 hours. it was a perfect game for him. but for the price it definitely should have been longer. and should have had different challenges. it was the same thing through out the entire game. very disappointed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disapointing December 19, 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
This game is repetitive and tedious. Fans of the THQ games (ie. Spongebob the Movie Game, Battle for Bikini Bottom) might well want to pass this one by. It's a tunnel run of button mashing and little else. Shoot the robots, smash the barrels, repeat... and repeat... and repeat... There's very limited charm/humor. It's okay, but only just. At best, it's good for several achievements, and perhaps venting some angst, but it offers little at all to maintain interest. Better in co-op, but still very flawed as a multi-player option.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beat in 2 days by a 4 and 6 year old December 13, 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
It is a fun game and a bit challenging at times but my 4 yr olds 1st time ever to play an xbox game was this game and she and her sister beat it in 2.5 days with just playing maybe 2 hours a day... So if you have an older kid who plays a lot if games they will probably be done with it in 1 day and for $30 I say not worth it...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun -- albeit short-lived fun February 5, 2014
By Stuffy
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
It took three of my kids three hours to beat this entire game, but they had a blast doing it. I would've liked to see more levels, more variety within the game, perhaps guns special to each character instead of them all having the same one.

I admit I joined in and had a good time. So, for co-op fun, this is a good buy, especially if not at full price.
