4.0 out of 5 stars My 4 year old enjoys this
In the eyes of my 4 (almost 5) year old, this is a homerun. Not that he has a high threshold, especially for SpongeBob, but he really enjoyed this "movie." It's pretty typical SpongeBob in terms of the level of silliness, and it seems to be a hit with the target audience of children. If your child likes SpongeBob, then he or she should like this movie...

If your child likes SpongeBob, then he or she should like this movie.

Plot-wise, SpongeBob finds the missing half of a special Atlantis coin, and when the pieces are joined, a special van arrives to take SpongeBob et al. to Atlantis. David Bowie voices the leader of the Atlantians, and typical SpongeBob hijinks ensue. If you are okay with your children watching SpongeBob, you won't find anything objectionable here.

In my eyes, I prefer SpongeBob in 15 minute doses. This ran for 45 minutes on TV, but that was with commercials. I was surprised this was billed on Nicklodeon as a TV movie when in actuality, it was quite short. I know there are complaints about Atlantis inconsistencies from mentions in past episodes, but come on, let's not take this too seriously.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool Spongebob DVD, December 2, 2007
This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants: SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis (DVD)
Spongebob Squarepants has a brand new DVD movie available. Spongebob's "Atlantis Squarepantis" is now available on DVD. This is the latest feature length Spongebob Squarepants movie. Spongebob and his pals are on a mission to get to Atlantis, which is home to The Oldest Living Bubble. Just like Patrick, he accidentally pops the bubble which leaves Spongebob and his friends on the run from the Antlantean Guards.

Spongebob Atlantis is a funny two part Spongebob episode. Music fans will appreciate the fact that David Bowie provides the voice for the character of Lord Royal Highness. The movie aired on Nickelodeon. If you missed it on television, here's your opportunity to own it on DVD.

Special features include:

-Inside the Spongebob Animation Studios
-Behind the Pantis-The Making of "Antlantis Squarepantis"

The 5th season of sponegbob is the worst season. Between the good old days and the farcical new ones.that said, Atlantis Squarepantis is a great film.

Pros
*Several Episodes
*Making of feature

Cons
*NO SCENE SELECT!
*The other episodes are quite bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really really like these episodes, July 18, 2008
A Kid's Review
This review is from: SpongeBob SquarePants: SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis (DVD)
Atlantis SquarePantis is a very funny episode special. SpongeBob is the best show on nickalodeon. I've been watching this show since I was five. I watched it for the first time and I was hooked. Then six years later I'm typing this review. I gave out SpongeBob valintines for valintine's day. Some kids laughed later on. Like "Geez you still watch SpongeBob? How mature is that?" Yeah I'm like getting this stuff from kids who are in my class and watch "Elmo's blanket adventure." Mature indeed. Anyway people can think that but they can't take it away from me. Nope. I'm gonna watch SpongeBob till I'm 90. SO THERE CLASSMATES FROM 5TH GRADE!!!!! Eat your heart out.

Fun movie. Spongebob, however, is not for everyone. In the right family, this is an entertaining movie for both kids and adults. For Spongebob, this movie is an A. In the grander scheme of things and the wider array of kids' movies available, Spongebob rates a B-/C+.

My brother's middle child (4 years old) is WILD for Spongebob. She also yells, "Turn it up!" everytime I play my David Bowie CD when she's with me. I think it's only appropriate that she get the best of both worlds (even though some adults would argue whether Spongebob is appropriate for young kids at all). This DVD arrived quickly and in excellent shape.
