SpongeBob's "Short" CD.,
By
This review is from: SpongeBob Squarepants: Original Theme Highlights (Audio CD)
SpongeBob is the greatest Sponge around! His show is hilarious and contains some great hilarious tunes. Unfortunately, only 7 of the many SpongeBob tunes have made it to this cd. My Favorites include:"SpongeBob Square Pants Theme" "Loop de Loop" "Ripped Pants" "SpongeBob Scaredy Pants" I like the theme simply because I think it's a cool theme song. "Loop de Loop" helps explain how to tie one's shoes. "Ripped Pants" is a great parody throwback to the surfer tunes of the 1950s and "SpongeBob Scaredy Pants" is just another cool song. A lot of people don't like "Pre-Hibernation". The song reminds me of something off of Space Ghost Coast to Coast and feels like a crazy song Brak would sing from that show. Considering SpongeBob has the same type of humor, it doesn't seem all that out of place. An album that fans of SpongeBob will probably want to own, but is very short on music.

I Love Spongebob, but...,
By Emily (MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SpongeBob Squarepants: Original Theme Highlights (Audio CD)
Well, I love Spongbob, but this CD feels a bit scrawny to me; they needed to flesh it out with a few more songs. I bought it for my little brother's birthday, and he liked it but I sensed the dissapointment at its brevity...then again, it is under 8 bucks, so what did I expect?1. Spongebob Squarepants Theme: a classic, this is a great tune! 2. Loop de Loop: a great song in the episode, but without the humor aspect of the cartoon, this song feels way too much like just another children's entertainer song... 3. Texas Song: haha I love this one, it comes from a great episode too! That squirrel can yodel!!! 4. Pre-Hibernation: a little thin...a GREAT episode, but why bother to put the instrumental theme on here...I mean it's good and metal-y, but feels out of place. 5. Ripped Pants-cute, fun, funny 6. F.U.N. Song-HAHAHAHA, another CLASSIC! It's infectious, especially Plankton's evil verse ;) 7. Spongebob Scaredy Pants: Not a favorite, but it's more good cartoon music Overall, I like several of these songs a LOT, and it's a great cartoon, but I don't especially recommend the CD. I'd say, stick to the cartoon and hear the songs in context!

Cute, but a tease...,

Much too short; could have left out the heavy metal "Jellyfishing". It seemed out of place. My 6 year old daughter is actually afraid of the song, so we skip over it. I'm surprised that song from the episode where SpongeBob's home is turned into a disco by jellyfish was not included. I hope that if a volume II is released, it isn't as short and that they will include this particular tune.

spongebob is my man,

Never has there being a carton so cool like spongbob that's my man His songs are only 8 minutes long buts its worth the waitso go buy your own copy because it is the best ever this is something you will never forget or regarded at all so go by your own copy of sponge bob .The CD itself is divided into four sections: Sponge, Patrick, Squid ward, and Sandy-the four main characters. The first song is the well-known Spongebob theme. The Loop-dee-Loop song is next. Boy is that catchy! I get it stuck in my head so often. Sandy's Texas song is my favorite. It's so sad! Pre-Hibernation is an awesome heavy metal instrumental from the episode in which Sandy practically kills Sponge with her dangerous activity week before going into hibernation. The Ripped Pants and FUN songs are just. Well, cute...and from the corresponding episodes. True SBSP fans have probably seen them many times. Sponge bob Scared Pants is a Halloween version of the theme song. Enjoy! (. I got this CD as a gift along with a million other Sponges bob-themed presents today!)

Where's The Rest?!?,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: SpongeBob Squarepants: Original Theme Highlights (Audio CD)
This CD was definetly not what I was expecting. The whole thing was only about 10 minutes long and they skipped most of the songs. Where is "Sweet Victory", "Just a Greasy Spoon", and "Jellyfish Jam"? Or the Christmas song? The songs they put on there were cute but there weren't enough. :(

Jellyfishing! Jellyfishing!,

I'm a huge SpongeBob fan (well, even more of a Patrick fan), and I'm 16! I mean, Nicktoons are cool and funny no matter how you get, the attitude that cartoons are for young children is DEAD! Anyway, I thought it was great that there actually is a SpongeBob CD, but I really wish they would have included more songs, I especially wish they would have included the Jellyfish Disco Music and the "Jellyfish Waltz" sung by SpongeBob and Patrick. They also should've include the closing credits, you know, with the ukelele. And what about "Sweet Victory" from SpongeBob's band from the episode "Band Geeks"?

Great Songs BUT Not Enough,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SpongeBob Squarepants: Original Theme Highlights (Audio CD)
Sponge Bob fans will love the songs in this CD, however they will be dissapointed with how short this CD is. They left a lot of songs out, for no apparent reason since they obviously had more than enough space in the CD to fill. The makers of Sponge Bob should come up with another CD that includes these and all the other great songs in this cartoon. That would be something to buy! If you are a die-hard Sponge Bob fan I guess you could get this CD for lack of anything better (as I said, you will love the songs in it). If not, I would wait for them to come up with another one that will hopefully be a more complete compilation of Sponge Bob songs.

Okay, here's what I have to say. If you like spongebob, and you find the songs from the show amusing....you'll want this. It's cute. Mine came with a big spongebob sticker inside as well. However, this cd is only 8 dollars, and here's the reason why. It's a very short cd. It's only about 9 minutes long. I liked it, but I wanted more for my money. And I KNOW there are more spongebob songs now! Hopefully nickelodeon will make a fuller compilation. But, its neat if you need background for a spongebob party for your kids, etc! =)

SpongeBob Executives - Listen Up!,
By
This review is from: SpongeBob Squarepants: Original Theme Highlights (Audio CD)
This CD is fantastic. My only complaint is that the disc has less than 10 minutes of content. It is so refreshing to watcha cartoon that contains cute and catchy musical numbers. So why did you leave so many out of the disc? 'Sweet Victory' from "Band Geeks" is great! The song in "SpongeBob's Christmas" is awesome. "Help Wanted" contained a song called "Living in the Sunlight, Loving in the Moonlight" (Having a Wonderful Time). It sounded like Tiny Tim. This should have been the very first song on the disc. I know there are more that were left out and I would love it if you would release them also. |
