4.0 out of 5 stars BETTER THAN THE MOVIE
I tried this game out before buying it for my niece. Actually, the game is more entertaining than the actual movie upon which it is based. The graphics and animation were better than what we got in the movie. The locations from the movie were used in the game and gave the player an opportunity to explore and make points. Reminds me a lot of Pac-man and the old Super...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as easy as you think, requires skill and patience
As an adult I enjoy video games that are fun and easy since I can't use ten buttons at once to defeat an enemy. In this game you use one button at a time, which is easy enough, however, the challenges you have to complete get progressively harder and harder. In order to gain new skills, you have to collect Goofy Goober coins, which are earned after challenges. I got...

The graphics and animation were better than what we got in the movie. The locations from the movie were used in the game and gave the player an opportunity to explore and make points. Reminds me a lot of Pac-man and the old Super Mario Brothers. Fun for kids but tedious for adults. Maybe a bit overpriced for a movie tie-in.

I was trying to decide whether or not I wanted to buy this game, so I read some customer reviews to see what others thought of it. I was so confused after reading one review that said the game was "awesome" but the reviewer only gave it two stars. Then the same reviewer said over and over to keep all adults away from the game, but added that parents can help kids through the hard levels. Huh?? I decided to give it a shot and I like it. It provided hours of fun for me and I recommend it for any Spongebob fan!

THIS IS NOT JUST A KID'S GAME! this game is actually very entertaining for adults, and maybe difficult for children. this game can be very challenging sometimes, but it is still VERY FUN!
it follows the movie, but has more extras included. This game has all kinds of activities as well. for the most part, you get to run freely, discovering secrets. But you can also drive the patty wagon, do time challenges, and an array of obsticals.
You can play Spongie or Patrick (1 @ a time)and gain different moves as you go along. you also have the ability to upgrade moves and make them better.
I love playing this game and taking turns with my boyfriend. If you are a SpongeBob fan, you will go absolutly CRAZY for this game. Even if you're not a fan, i still think you will have lots of fun with this game.
***GET THE SPONGEBOB & PATRICK PS2 CONTROLLERS TO PLAY! IT MAKES IT EVEN BETTER!***

Some of the levels are too difficult for him but he loves doing the parts he can (again and again and again) and I offered a little help for the more difficult sections. The humor and animation are pretty good. Although I found some of the challenges tough, I'm also an adult and he loves the challenges even if he can't complete them.

Buy it for your youngn's. They'll love it.

This is my second favorite game for my ps2.I have all 3 spongebob games for my playstation 2 and I beat them all under 4 days not including revenge of the (flying dutchman because it kept on glitching). All of the games are pritty easy but fun.(still not including revenge of the flying dutchman). This game is along the lines of battle for bikini botom but better. You get a goofy goober token whenever you complete a task.Plus you can find treasure chests to unlock things like trailers for the movie. And i will give you a hint to beat the final boss. The level is called turn the tables on plankton.Well the key is to literally turn the krusty krab tables. then when king neptune is dazed hit him with your sonic wave gutar.( I dont think I spelled the last word right.Overall this is almost as good as my favorite game Ratchet and Clank going commando, but overall a great game. PS this is a much better game than that stupid halo game for xbox.

In order to gain new skills, you have to collect Goofy Goober coins, which are earned after challenges. I got close to the end, but the game is too hard to finish (for me at least). It is colorful, super music, the characters are funny, and it's great to explore the worlds you're in. It's not too aggressive, and you don't kill enemies in groteque ways, so I'd recommend it to children and adults alike, so long as you are good at racing and fighting multiple enemies at once.

3.0 out of 5 stars Harder then battle for bikini bottom, April 25, 2005
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Spongebob Squarepants The Movie (Video Game)
If you have played 'battle for bikini bottom' and thought it was fun and you bought this one thinking it will be the same, you'll be in for a Surprise!!! 'Spongebob the Movie game' is a little bit Harder then battle for bikini bottom. I was stuck on some stage for days!!! And I'm a Expert gamer, I've played just about every game out there and have been playing video games before the kids on this review board were even born!!!

But my 6 year old had a really hard time driving the crabby patty through the rings and gave up on it. It took me about 10 tries to make it through the rings and 2 weeks to complete the whole game (only playing 1-2 hours every other day). A true game player will complete this game, after throwing the controls on the ground a couple times after doing the same stage 10 times. But for younger players (under age of 8) they'll never get through last 3 stages. I agree that graphics are great, the story line is cute (better then the movie) and it is Very challenging!!! But it is not as exciting as Mermaid Man's layer in Battle for Bikini Bottom.

If you haven't played battle for bikini bottom yet, I suggest buying that 1st, it is more fun and easier!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Game, But Not Very Appropriate For It's Age Group, June 25, 2007

A great game, but a bit hard for the age group it's targeted towards. Some of the levels are hard for me, and I've outgrown Spongebob's age group long ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS GAME!, September 16, 2006
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Spongebob Squarepants The Movie (Video Game)
This is an awesome game. You can break lots of objects and get "Manliness Awards" For the stuff that you break including Stools,Tables,Boxes,Packages of Flour(I don't understand it either....),garbage cans and more. It has REAL scenes from the movie. Some are re-made in video game format, some are the real thing. The first level is called "No Cheese!"
You have to slide, punch and kick the Krusty Krab. The Krusty Krab is a resturaunt that SpongeBob works at. Then you will see the exact same scene that was in the movie about somebody eating a cheeseburger and (gasp!).....NO CHEESE!!!!!!
The next level is called "I'm Ready.....Depression"
In this level you play as Patrick, SpongeBob's Dim-Witted but loveable friend. You have to fight mutated peanut guys with hammers(once again, I do NOT understand)to save spongebob. For he has been kidnapped by giant peanut mutated people!!!!!
There's more....I just haven't played that far........
THANKS FOR READING!

this game is ok. it is not that challenging, and can get a little boring. the charatctars are funny though. get this game if you are a die hard spongebob fan, or if you are getting it for a kid 6 or under. older may find it easy.
